How to Complete the Shattered Veil Main Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies

To complete the Shattered Veil Main Easter Egg, repair the elevator to the Mainframe Chamber, unlock the Ray Gun Mark II, build its three variants, finish the matching rituals, then defeat the Z-Rex in the Mainframe Chamber. Directed Mode marks objectives and keeps rounds capped at 15 until the quest is complete; Standard Mode leaves more of the route for you to discover.

What you get for completing the quest

The Shattered Veil Main Quest launched with Season 03 on April 2, 2025. Activision lists the PhDeadly Operator Skin for Carver, an animated Calling Card, and 5,000 XP as completion rewards. A unique Calling Card variant was available to players who completed the quest before Directed Mode arrived.

Loadout and useful tools

Aether Shroud and a Combat Axe are called out as useful quest tools in the walkthrough. If you have not unlocked them, the walkthrough notes that alternate ways to obtain them exist: Combat Axes can spawn or be crafted, and a side Easter Egg can provide an Aether Shroud charge. GobbleGums and specific weapon recommendations are optional aids, not quest requirements. The Ray Gun Mark II is useful for damage, but you obtain it during the quest.

The walkthrough says the quest can be completed with any player count. For the final fight, bring a strong secondary weapon as well as your main weapon.

Repair the elevator to the Mainframe Chamber

1. Go to the Library and collect the Fuse.
2. Go to the Director’s Quarters and collect the Circuit Board from the computer.
3. Follow the in-game markers to use the parts and repair the elevator to the Mainframe Chamber.

Unlock the Ray Gun Mark II

1. Reach Round 10 and defeat the Lab Technician in the Mainframe Chamber. Pick up the Floppy Disk it drops.
2. Take the disk to the computer in the East Foyer. Insert it, then defend the area while the print sequence runs.
3. Read the protocol word on the printed sheet: CRAB, WORM, MOTH, or YETI.
4. Go to the Nursery and use the chalkboard’s letter groups to work out the four-digit code for that word.
5. Enter the code at the HVT Doppelghast door in the Service Tunnel. Defeat the Doppelghast and collect its Severed Arm.
6. Take the arm to the biometric scanner beside the Ray Gun Mark II case in the Armory to open the case.

Activision’s Season 03 patch notes documented and fixed a historical issue in which the Lab Technician could transform into a Parasite and fail to drop the Floppy Disk. That fix is not a guarantee that every platform is free of quest issues today.

Build the three Ray Gun Mark II variants

Collect three empty canisters, then charge and craft each variant. Some crate, crystal, and item locations in the walkthrough are randomized or conditional, so follow current in-game markers and check the relevant areas rather than assuming every run uses identical spawn points.

Wraith Fire

1. At Shem’s Henge, place an empty canister in the machine.
2. Use an Abomination’s lightning and charge attacks to raise three rocks.
3. Defend the energy siphon from Vermin until the canister is charged.
4. Take the charged canister to the Supply Depot workbench and craft Wraith Fire.

Rot Blight

1. Destroy fully grown plants with explosive damage and collect four seeds.
2. Take the seeds to a Conservatory propagator. Defend each one as it grows.
3. Collect the toxic canister and take it to the Garden Pond workbench to craft Rot Blight.

Preservation

1. Find the Essence Bomb in Project Janus crates and collect two Reflectors from lion fountains.
2. Open the Service Tunnel wall to reach the Serpent Mound.
3. Redirect the blue beam with the Reflectors, then charge the three Doppelghast statues in turn.
4. Collect the Light Canister and craft Preservation at the Director’s Quarters workbench.

Complete the three rituals

Each ritual requires its named item and the matching Ray Gun Mark II variant. Complete all three before starting the final encounter.

Antler Carving: Preservation

1. Use Preservation kills to charge the portal in the Banquet Hall, then enter it and collect the Ritual Elixir.
2. Use the elixir on three chalices to summon Elder Disciples, then defeat them.
3. Record the three number groups around the elevator. Enter them in order at the safe in the West Hallways and collect the Antler Carving.
4. Take the carving to the portal pedestal. In the ritual HVT fight, the walkthrough says Preservation can damage the Elder Disciple’s shield.

Metal Hip Flask: Wraith Fire

1. Collect the Sconce from the Banquet Hall box.
2. Complete the three-round Simon Says sequence at the Grand Foyer wall.
3. Charge and enter the Distillery portal.
4. Find the Bell in the Study and place it at the Overlook bar.
5. Apply Brain Rot to a nearby zombie, then ring the bell to produce the Metal Hip Flask.
6. Use the flask at the portal pedestal. In the ritual HVT fight, the walkthrough says Wraith Fire can damage the Mangler’s shield.

Nuclear Plant Inspection Report: Rot Blight

1. Charge and enter the Library portal.
2. Use Aether Shroud to collect the Audio Log, Ledger, and ID Badge from their possible spawn locations.
3. Interact with the three books in the correct order to open the secret room and collect the Nuclear Plant Inspection Report.
4. Use the report at the portal pedestal. In the ritual HVT fight, the walkthrough says Rot Blight can damage the Amalgam’s shield.

If a ritual does not start after you have its item and the matching weapon, the walkthrough suggests advancing to another round and trying again. Activision’s patch notes also list fixes for several quest-state issues.

Defeat the Z-Rex

1. Return to the Mainframe Chamber and interact with the console in front of the giant S.A.M. AI to begin the encounter.
2. Keep moving and avoid the toxic pools. Use cover and distance when you need to manage threats, and attack when the boss is distracted or on the far side of the arena.
3. Use the safer openings to damage the Z-Rex. The walkthrough identifies its eyes and the appearance of Toxic Zombies as attack opportunities.
4. Kill zombies during the fight to replenish ammunition; the walkthrough says they drop ammo more often in this encounter. Do not plan around Max Ammo drops, which the guide says are absent.

The final fight is described as having four phases. Movement, avoiding hazards, using the arena, and choosing safer attack windows are third-party walkthrough recommendations, not an official guarantee of how every encounter will behave.
