Because more than one configuration can qualify, check the finished MP5’s stats and components rather than relying on a particular parts list.
Gunsmith – Part 3 requirements
Meet every stat threshold and attachment requirement at the same time:
- Durability: 60 or higher
- Ergonomics: 45 or higher
- Combined recoil: 240 or lower
- Sighting range: 200 or higher
- Weight: 4 kg or lower
- A tactical device
- A silencer
- The HK MP5 9×19 X Products X-5 50-round drum magazine
The quest dialogue mentions a tactical flashlight, but the listed guide criteria require a tactical device. The example build uses a laser; follow the formal requirements and confirm the installed item is accepted in-game. Quest requirements and example configuration.
One example MP5 build
The quest reference gives an example built on a standard MP5 from Peacekeeper LL1. It lists an MP5SD upper receiver, polymer handguard, suppressor and tri-rail ring mount, together with the required X-5 drum magazine and an NcSTAR Tactical Blue Laser. This is one possible setup, not the only valid combination.

For that example, the reference lists the MP5SD components at Peacekeeper LL2, the laser at Skier LL1, and the drum magazine through Mechanic. Trader stock and loyalty requirements can change, so verify availability in your current game. These access notes do not establish that the parts are the cheapest way to complete the quest.
Check the weapon before handing it in
- Assemble an MP5 with the required drum magazine, silencer and tactical device.
- Inspect the completed weapon and confirm that its displayed durability, ergonomics, combined recoil, sighting range and weight all meet the thresholds.
- If the quest checkmark does not appear despite the requirements appearing satisfied, recheck the stats and attachments, then try submitting the weapon. The reference reports that the checkmark may not display consistently; it is not established that this happens to every player.
Rewards listed for the quest
The quest reference lists +2,800 EXP, +0.01 Mechanic reputation, 250 dollars, two SwampFox Trihawk Prism Scope 3×30 optics, two Magpul RVG foregrips in FDE, and a Mechanic LL1 barter unlock for the Glock 17 9×19 pistol (Tac 3 variant). Rewards can vary by game version; check the in-game quest screen if the exact current amounts or unlocks matter.
