If you are already hunting other High Rank monsters
The Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Database lists High Rank Rotten Carve entries at 30% for Arkveld, Lagiacrus, Rey Dau, and Seregios. It also lists Arkveld High Rank target-reward entries at 18% and 11%; these are separate entries and should not be combined into one chance. Carving or targeting these monsters may suit a hunt you already plan to do, but the percentages do not establish that this is faster than repeating an optional quest.
How to farm without mistaking chance for a guarantee
- Reach HR 30 and check whether the listed six-star optional quest you want is available in your game.
- Pick the hunt that fits your target preference: Uth Duna for One Thick Veil!, Rey Dau for When the Dust Settles…, or Jin Dahaad for When Frost Falls.
- Complete the quest and check the rewards. A listed chance is not a promise that the item will appear on each completion.
- Repeat the route if you still need copies for crafting. If you are hunting Arkveld, Lagiacrus, Rey Dau, or Seregios for another reason, their listed Rotten Carve entries provide an additional possible route.
What the reward figures can and cannot tell you
