You can change the email on your Epic Games account in Account Settings, but the standard process requires access to both inboxes: Epic sends a security code to your current address, then a verification link to the new one. Epic’s published guidance says an address can be changed once every 90 days, and the new address cannot already be attached to another Epic account.
Change the email on your Epic Games account
-
Sign in to your Epic Games account and open Account Settings.

Epic says it sends a confirmation to the new address after the change succeeds.
If you open the verification message on a different browser or device, Epic may ask you to sign in. At that prompt, use the old email address—the address you are changing. Do not share the security code with anyone; enter it only in Epic’s account flow.

Verify an email already listed on your account
If Account Settings shows a yellow notice that your email is unverified, select “click here to resend”. Open the resulting verification email and select “VERIFY YOUR EMAIL.” If it does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. Epic’s email-verification instructions
If you cannot access the current email inbox
Try to recover access through your email provider first, as Epic recommends. If that does not work, open an incognito or private browser window while signed out of Epic and follow Epic’s account-recovery process. You may need a previous email-and-password combination. Recovery is not guaranteed; Epic does not promise that every request will be approved. Epic’s account-recovery guidance

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

If you do not remember which email is on the account
When you are signed in, Account Settings displays the email in masked form, including some beginning and ending characters and its domain. If you use a connected account to sign in, you can inspect the same masked information. Epic also describes self-service email search and contacting support as possible next steps. If you already have an active Epic session, use an incognito or private window for a self-service route rather than signing out of the only session you can access. “Limited to only one alternative email”
Epic says this message means the new address has not yet been verified. Open its verification email and follow the link. If the link opens in another browser session or on another device and Epic requests sign-in, use the old email address being changed. If you cannot access the address you entered or want to use a different one, cancel the change and confirm the cancellation before starting again. Epic’s explanation of the alternative-email error

A security code or verification email has not arrived
Check spam and junk, and make sure you are checking the correct inbox for that stage: the security code goes to the current email, while the verification link goes to the new email. Epic’s instructions identify those as separate messages and steps.
The new address is already in use
Epic requires the new address not to be in use on another Epic Games account. Choose an address that meets that requirement; do not assume that completing verification will override it.
Secure the email you keep on the account
Choose an address you expect to retain long term. Losing access to it can complicate future account access or recovery. Epic recommends verifying the associated email and protecting that email account with a unique password and two-factor authentication (2FA). These are security recommendations, not prerequisites for changing the address. Epic Games Account Security
Epic lists authenticator apps, SMS, and email as account 2FA methods and recommends authenticator apps as the strongest option. Its guidance also covers Epic Authenticator and third-party authenticator apps; SMS availability may vary by region. Choose a method you can reliably access and keep any recovery options available.
