The Rat King is an optional Easter egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies on Citadelle des Morts, separate from the map’s main quest. Take the cheese wheel from Town Square, scare away the hidden rats, then offer the cheese in the Pack-a-Punch room. Find all 10 rats before feeding them to earn the cosmetic crown as well as random loot.
Find the cheese wheel in Town Square
- Go to the northeast corner of the Town Square spawn area.
- Shoot the glass display holding the cheese, then pick up the cheese wheel.
Scare away the hidden rats
There are 10 rats to find around Citadelle des Morts. Approach each one to make it scatter; the guides describe proximity, rather than a separate interaction prompt, as the trigger.

Some location landmarks reported by guides include a rat under a planter near the west gate and another beneath a vehicle in the east-side Village Ascent area. The available guide details do not establish a complete, cross-checked route to all 10 locations, so use the landmarks as clues rather than treating them as a full checklist.
Find all 10 before offering the cheese
The number of rats you scare affects the reward. To get the crown, find all 10 before placing the cheese on the plate. Gameranx warns that offering the cheese after finding only some rats may prevent you from collecting the remaining rewards during that run; treat this as a guide’s practical warning, not a confirmed universal game rule.
