To trigger the hidden Floyd fight in Mortal Kombat 1, complete hidden challenges and watch for a small pink/Floyd icon and a guitar riff after a challenge counts. Guides published in January 2025 describe the route as completing 10 successful challenges from a pool of 37; which challenges count can vary by player profile. Beat Floyd to reportedly unlock The Field stage.
Who is Floyd in Mortal Kombat 1?
Floyd is a hidden pink ninja opponent and Easter egg, not a fighter you select from the character roster. Reference material describes Floyd as having been added in the January 2025 update, but the available guides do not establish whether later patches changed the encounter.

How to trigger the hidden fight
- Complete hidden challenges. The challenges are profile-specific, so there is no single fixed sequence that every player can follow.
- Check whether each challenge counted. Look for a small Floyd or pink icon and listen for a guitar riff. Destructoid and Kamidogu identify these as the cues for a successful challenge.
- Keep track of confirmed successes. Destructoid reports 37 possible challenges, with 10 successful challenges as the route to the encounter; Insider Gaming also reports the ten-challenge trigger. Count a challenge when you receive the cue rather than assuming that a particular task counted.
- Continue until Floyd appears, then win the fight. Gameranx reports that defeating Floyd unlocks The Field stage.
What to know about the challenge route
The 37-challenge pool and ten-success trigger are guide-reported figures, not confirmed here by official patch notes. The sources do not provide a fully verified, challenge-by-challenge list or establish a universal order. They also do not confirm whether every platform and current game version uses identical conditions.
If you are unsure whether progress registered, use the icon and riff as your record: note which challenge you completed when the cue appeared, then continue with other hidden challenges. Detailed mode-specific requirements are not established by the available guides, so avoid relying on an unverified checklist as a guaranteed sequence.

What happens if you lose?
Some guide material describes Floyd as difficult, but the sources do not agree clearly enough on retry mechanics to promise that a failed fight can be restarted immediately or that challenge progress is preserved. If the encounter does not return, check whether the relevant challenge cues have appeared and continue tracking confirmed successes.
