The puzzle asks players to sort the words into four groups of four. The answer guide for this puzzle says players may make four mistakes. Why the director group is easy to second-guess
BAY, CARPENTER, SCOTT, and WOO form the final group through surnames, not through a shared first-name pattern. The answer guides label the category “ACTION MOVIE DIRECTORS”; a contemporaneous player discussion reflects the ambiguity those names can create. The discussion is useful context, but the intended category is the director surnames.
When a possible connection seems plausible, check that all four words fit one clear category before submitting it. That is especially helpful when a set depends on recognizing names rather than matching words by their everyday meanings.
