When menus and crowd sounds work, check Game Settings > Audio > Commentary Language and whether your chosen commentary language needs a separate download. If all sound is missing or crackling, test whether the issue changes by game mode or audio output before changing settings or deleting files.
Start by identifying which audio is affected
Notice what you can still hear, and whether the problem happens in every mode. That narrows the next check without assuming the game itself is at fault.
- Commentary is missing, but menus, crowd, and gameplay sounds work: check the commentary language setting and download requirements.
- All FC 25 audio is missing: compare online and offline play, then test another output such as headphones if available.
- Audio crackles or distorts: check whether it happens in other games and through another output before concluding FC 25 is the cause.
Fix missing or incorrect commentary
- Open Game Settings > Audio > Commentary Language.
- Select the language you want. EA says commentary defaults to English.
- If the game prompts you to download commentary, complete that download. Changing the game’s general language is not the same as choosing the commentary language.
EA’s commentary-language instructions provide this menu path. The download requirement depends on your platform and, on PC, the store client language:

These requirements are from EA’s FC 25 disclaimers. The exact download screens can differ by platform; use the prompt shown in your game rather than assuming the same button sequence applies everywhere.

If all game audio is missing
Compare online and offline play
If sound works offline but not online, the symptom may depend on mode rather than a general failure of your speakers or headset. An EA Forums report about no sound in online mode describes that pattern. In reply, EA community manager EA_Pulsar suggested trying stereo instead of 5.1 or 7.1, testing headphones, and removing the local FC 25 settings folder. The player said the first suggestions did not resolve the issue, so treat these as case-specific troubleshooting ideas, not guaranteed fixes.
Test another audio output
If you already have headphones, try them and compare the result with your usual speakers or output. If the sound returns, that helps narrow the problem to the original output path; it does not by itself prove which device or setting is responsible. There is no established need to buy a new headset as a first step.

Be cautious with local settings files
Deleting the local FC 25 settings folder was suggested in the forum reply, but removing local settings can reset preferences. Before attempting it, understand what the folder contains and back it up if you may need to restore your settings. The report does not establish that deleting it fixes online-mode audio generally.
If FC 25 audio crackles or distorts
Check whether the distortion happens in another game and whether it changes when you use a different audio output. A PS5 forum report describes crackling or distortion in Ultimate Team while other games reportedly sounded normal. That is one player’s report, not confirmation of a widespread FC 25 defect or a diagnosis of the cause.

Check Spotify if commentary is replaced by music or podcasts
EA says FC 25’s Spotify integration can replace commentary with music or podcasts while leaving other game audio on. If that matches what you hear, check whether Spotify is active in the game. Availability depends on region and platform. EA specifies that PC players must use the Spotify app downloaded from Spotify’s official website; the Microsoft Store version is not supported for linking. See EA’s Spotify instructions for FC 25.

If the language setting and any required download do not restore commentary, or the checks for mode and output do not resolve missing or distorted audio, use the EA SPORTS FC 25 support hub to find the available help and contact routes. Include your platform, store client if you play on PC, affected game mode, audio output, and whether other games have the same symptom; those details help distinguish a game-setting issue from an output-specific one.
