Download Yandere Simulator from the developer’s official Download page. Use its “Download Launcher” link to get the latest version; if the launcher does not work, use the direct latest.zip link on that page or its link to the developer blog’s download options. The developer currently offers Windows PC builds only.
Before you download: check Windows compatibility
Yandere Simulator is a Windows PC game. The developer says Mac, Linux, and Android builds are not available. Its published hardware figures below are dated July 13, 2025, so treat them as guidance rather than a guarantee of performance on every system.
| Category | Developer’s listed guidance |
|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 10 64-bit; Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300; 8 GB RAM; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or equivalent; DirectX 11; 5 GB available storage. Source: Yandere Simulator About page, published July 13, 2025. |
| Recommended | Windows 10 64-bit; AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700; 16 GB RAM; GTX 1070 / RTX 2060 or better; DirectX 11; 6 GB available storage. The developer describes this as guidance for smooth gameplay at 60 FPS and max settings. Source: Yandere Simulator About page, published July 13, 2025. |
The developer warns that performance may be unstable on very low-end systems and crashes can occur. Its examples—not independent benchmark results—include 60+ FPS on a Ryzen 9 5900X / RTX 3080 system and 10–15 FPS plus crashes on a budget laptop with an Intel Celeron N5095 / UHD Graphics. Actual results depend on the computer and settings.
Download the game from the official page
- Open the official Yandere Simulator Download page.
- Select “Download Launcher.” The page describes the launcher as the easy way to download the latest version.
- Open the downloaded file and follow the launcher and Windows prompts. The official page does not specify a more detailed launcher setup sequence.
Use the developer’s site rather than an unofficial mirror. The project is released while still incomplete and is updated frequently, so some features may be unfinished and placeholder graphics or animations may appear.

If the launcher does not work
The same official Download page offers a direct latest.zip link and a link to the developer blog’s download choices. Try one of those official alternatives if the launcher fails. The page does not provide comparative security or performance testing for the two routes.
If a downloaded file appears corrupted, the developer’s instruction is to download it again. If the issue persists, use the other official download option rather than a third-party copy.

About antivirus warnings
YandereDev says some antivirus products flag the game because its executable is unsigned: “In short: Some virus scanners say that Yandere Simulator is a virus (or ‘suspicious’) because I haven’t started paying hundreds of dollars to sign the executable.” That is the developer’s explanation, not an independent malware scan or proof that every warning or file is harmless. Download only through the official page and its linked alternatives, and do not assume a warning can safely be ignored.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Controls and cost
A gamepad is optional: the official controls page lists both keyboard and gamepad controls, so a controller is not required to download or install the game. The developer’s About page says Yandere Simulator has been free for 10 years; that describes its past availability and is not a guarantee of future pricing.
