To complete Mission 6’s Kill List challenge, collect the Coal Torpedo in the manor, put it in the container beside the upstairs fireplace, then hide and wait for Uwe Schoene to use it. The explosion kills him and completes the challenge.
Where to find the Coal Torpedo
Start Assault on Fort Rouge (Mission 6). The detailed route from Insider Gaming assumes the default South Mountain Path starting point. Enter the manor and search the ground floor for the Coal Torpedo: it is on a table in a room reached through a south-western window, according to Insider Gaming’s walkthrough. GameSpot describes the location as a ground-floor supply room in its Kill List guide.
How to set the fireplace trap
- Take the Coal Torpedo. Search the manor’s ground floor and pick it up before heading upstairs.
- Stay undetected. Make your way to the large upstairs room without Schoene or other enemies spotting you during setup.
- Place the item. Find the fireplace and interact with the container beside it. Insider Gaming calls it a gold container; GameSpot calls it a wicker basket.
- Hide nearby and wait. Schoene should approach and put the Coal Torpedo in the fire. Let the resulting explosion kill him; that is the intended challenge method.
If Schoene does not use the Coal Torpedo
Community posts describe a few possible reasons the sequence might not trigger, but these are player reports rather than confirmed mechanics or universal fixes. A Steam discussion suggests that picking up a note near the church to advance the red objective may be necessary. Players also report that Schoene may stop burning evidence if an alarm makes him cautious. These possibilities are worth checking if he does not follow the expected routine.
If Schoene has moved into a different routine or the placement interaction fails, the guides recommend restarting the mission as a fallback. The detailed route assumes the default South Mountain Path start; a player in the discussion suggests unlocking the church-side spawn point for a shorter approach, but does not establish it as a fix.
