To sell a car in Forza Horizon 5, list it in the Auction House: open the Cars menu, go to Buy New & Used Cars, enter the Auction House, and choose Start Auction. Select the car, set its starting bid, buyout price and auction length, then confirm. A listing can earn credits if another player buys it; giving a car away removes it from your garage but earns nothing.
How to list a car in the Auction House
Forza confirmed the Auction House is part of Forza Horizon 5 alongside the Autoshow in its September 2021 announcement FAQ. The following menu route is described by an Operation Sports guide published January 6, 2026; menu labels can change with game updates.
- Pause the game and open the Cars menu.
- Select Buy New & Used Cars and travel to the Festival.
- Open the Auction House.
- Choose Start Auction and select the car you want to list.
- Choose Auction Car.
- Set the Starting Price, Buyout Price and Auction Length.
- Review the listing details and confirm.

Choose your price and auction length
Starting price
The starting price is the opening bid. Use the Auction House to check comparable listings before setting it: prices and buyer demand vary, and the available sources do not establish a universal recommended price.

Buyout price
The buyout price is the amount at which a buyer can purchase the car immediately rather than wait for the auction to end. Set it if you want to offer that option.
Auction length
You choose the listing duration during setup. The available guidance does not establish one best duration or a guaranteed chance of selling, so treat both timing and outcome as uncertain.

If you only want to remove a car
If earning credits is not important, you can send the car to another player through a Gift Drop. In Forza’s official FAQ, gifting is described as removing the vehicle from the sender’s garage; it is a giveaway, not a sale, and does not pay sale credits. What to know before listing
- Not every car’s auction eligibility is established by the available sources. Forza’s car list shows several acquisition routes, including Autoshow, Wheelspin, Seasonal, Backstage and DLC, but does not say that every vehicle can be auctioned. Check the Auction House with the specific car you want to sell; the Forza car list shows acquisition routes.
- The cited sources do not establish a direct fixed-price sale of a car back to the game, auction fees or a guaranteed sale outcome.
- Listings and demand are live-market variables. Check current comparables in-game rather than relying on a fixed price recommendation.
