You can’t preload Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 now: its launch preload window was in November 2025. At launch, the official PC requirements called for 116 GB of available SSD space, but that figure is not a guaranteed download or current install size. You can choose which content to install on supported platforms; check your own launcher or console for the current download size and available-space requirement.
When did Black Ops 7 preload open?
For the original PC launch, digital pre-purchasers could begin preloading the Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies on November 10, 2025, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. The full title went live November 14 at midnight local time, according to Call of Duty’s November 4, 2025 PC launch guide. Those dates have passed; they are not current preload instructions. That PC announcement does not establish a separate console preload schedule.
How much space does Black Ops 7 need?
At launch, Call of Duty listed 116 GB of available SSD space for all three PC requirement tiers: Minimum, Recommended, and Competitive/Ultra 4K. This is a launch-era free-space requirement, not a promise that the game downloads exactly 116 GB or occupies that amount after installation.
The requirements page also cautions that additional space may be needed for mandatory updates. Activision’s installation guide, marked updated April 2, 2026, says the disc version requires a Day One update to play. A launch figure therefore should not be treated as a ceiling for the space needed during installation or later updates.

Black Ops 7 has since received updates; the official Season 06 patch notes are dated October 7, 2026. The official sources cited here do not provide a current platform-by-platform size breakdown. Your actual download and installed size can vary with updates and the content you select, so use the size displayed by your own platform rather than relying on an old launch estimate.
Can you reduce the download size?
Yes. Activision’s installation guide provides options to select game content rather than installing everything. The exact controls vary by platform:

- Xbox consoles, including Game Pass: choose “Choose what to install.”
- PlayStation 5: open “Install Options,” uncheck “Select All,” then select the content you want.
- PlayStation 4: use “Your Add-ons” on the game’s PlayStation Store page.
- Battle.net: review the installation options and select the Call of Duty content you want; uncheck content to customize the install.
- Steam: open the game’s Properties, then the DLC tab, to select content.
- Xbox on PC: choose “Choose what to install.”
Activision says selecting specific content can reduce the download, but does not publish how many gigabytes each choice saves. Before starting, review the selected content and the download size shown by your platform. Also check available drive space, since the displayed download size is not necessarily the same as the free space required to install and update the game.

- Open the game in your platform’s library or launcher and check the current download size.
- Use the platform’s install or content options to select only the modes and content you intend to play.
- Confirm that the target drive has enough free space for installation and updates; the 116 GB figure applies to the PC launch requirements, not necessarily today’s install.
- If you are installing from disc, allow for the required Day One update described by Activision.
If space is tight, try removing unneeded content selections before considering a drive upgrade. The sources above do not specify current storage requirements for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC installations, so avoid treating a number reported by another player as an official universal size.
