Wordle’s puzzle number advances over time, so the two identifiers in “January 20, 2025, #1676” cannot describe the same game. WordFinder’s archive distinguishes January 20, 2025 (#1311, SQUID) from January 20, 2026 (#1676, SULLY): WordFinder’s Wordle archive. Parade’s dated guides independently identify each answer: January 20, 2025, #1311 and January 20, 2026, #1676.

Hints before the answers

Think of a marine animal with tentacles that lives in the ocean and is also commonly eaten. Capitalize My Title’s clue points to that category.

The answer is a verb with a repeated letter. It means to stain or damage someone’s purity or integrity.

How to use the clues and tile feedback
Wordle is a five-letter guessing game with up to six guesses. After each guess, colored tiles show how your letters compare with the answer. Wordle Archive describes the six-guess format, tile feedback, and selecting past puzzles by date or number.
- Start with a five-letter guess that tests letters you want to check. There is no established evidence here that one opener is mathematically best.
- Read the colored tiles, keeping track of which letters are in the answer and which positions are correct.
- Use your next guess to test plausible remaining letters and placements. Avoid reusing letters that feedback has ruled out unless you have a specific reason to test them again.
- Apply the clue for the puzzle you are solving, then use the remaining guesses to confirm a candidate against the tile feedback.
Replay the correct puzzle
If you want to solve the historical game rather than just see its answer, use an archive that lets you select a puzzle by date or number. Choose January 20, 2025 or #1311 for SQUID; choose #1676 or January 20, 2026 for SULLY. Archive availability and access details can change.
