How to play Wordle
Wordle asks you to find a five-letter answer in up to six guesses. After each guess, the game marks letters to show how they match the answer:
- Green: the letter is in the answer and in the correct position.
- Yellow: the letter is in the answer but in a different position.
- Grey: the letter is not in the answer.
When a solution contains a repeated letter, feedback may take an additional guess to interpret: a letter appearing once in your guess does not by itself tell you that it appears twice in the answer.
