How to reach the Shelter
The safe is inside the Shelter, an outer room reached from the West Gate Path. You need to open the route through the Garage before you can draft the Shelter.

- Restore power to the Garage by solving the breaker puzzle in the Utility Closet.
- Open the Garage Door and remove the gate latch to gain access to the West Gate Path.
- Leave the manor along the West Path and draft the Shelter as an outer room. The available outer rooms come from a limited random pool, so the Shelter may not appear on your first attempt.

How to program the safe
Enter the current in-game date
The terminal asks for a date and time. Day 1 is November 7. Check the current day in your inventory or map, then count forward from November 7 to find the date for that run day. Enter that date at the terminal.

Choose a time at least one hour ahead
Runs begin at 8:00 a.m. GameSpot estimates that an in-game hour takes roughly five minutes of real time and recommends setting the safe for 10:00 a.m. as a practical target. The requirement is to select a time at least one in-game hour ahead of the current time, so check the large clock outside the manor or another in-game clock if you are unsure how much time has passed.
Wait in the Shelter and check promptly
Remain in the Shelter until the selected time arrives, then check the safe. GameSpot states the advance-time requirement but does not specify how long the safe remains open; Destructoid says the open window lasts four hours. The guides do not establish whether that difference reflects a version change or a reporting discrepancy, so do not rely on a long window—check the safe as soon as your selected time arrives.
