Two sigils are reported to be story-gated, so you may need to return to their locations later.
Where to find all eight Stone Sigils
Use the landmarks below to locate each sigil. Death and Shadow have reported mission requirements; collect the other six while exploring, then return for those two when their gates are open.
1. Void
At the waterfalls southeast of the Monastery, reach the higher level and pass behind a waterfall into a cave. Dive into the pool inside and search for the sigil.
2. Moon
Near the waterfall cave, climb the rock formation to an opening leading to a hidden glade with a tent. The sigil rests on a rock.

3. Witch’s Mark
Find the river inlet at the cliff base between Mountain Shelter Town and the Mountain Relay substation. Enter the hut and look beside the fireplace.
4. Sacrifice
Return to the arena where you fought the Toxic Chimera. In the ruins, look for a desiccated corpse; the sigil is attached to a pillar.

5. Death
In northeastern Old Town, near Touristic Relay, enter the graveyard mausoleum. Go through the crawlspace into the crypt and take the sigil from the angel statue. AllThingsHow reports that this location becomes available after the third main mission, “The Beast Within.”
6. Blood
Outside St. Valentine’s Asylum, find the maiden’s fountain. Take the sigil from the statue while avoiding the undead nearby.

7. Curse
In The Vale, go northeast of Memorial Hill of Heroes to the Tree of Madness. Search behind the base of the gnarled tree, beside the skeleton.
8. Shadow
In the Exiles’ Cave, check the rest area with a bean bag and candles. AllThingsHow reports that this sigil is gated until after the eighth main mission, “Some Like It Dark.”
How to complete the EXPcalibur ritual
- After collecting the sigils, travel to the rocky outcrop northeast of the Monastery.
- Climb the rock formation to the sword. Look for vines and ledges as you circle the formation; GameSpot also describes using wall runs and jumps from branches.
- Place all eight sigils on the stakes around the sword.
- Defeat the elite enemy that spawns. It can try to knock you off the outcrop, so avoid fighting near the edge.
- Hold the interact button to draw the sword. GameSpot reports that the extraction takes roughly three minutes or more; keep holding rather than treating the long interaction as a failed prompt.
What EXPcalibur does
GameSpot’s September 2025 guide reports these weapon properties; they are guide-reported values, not independently tested here.
- 20% bonus damage on a headshot or headstrike.
- 6% bonus damage against infected.
- 10% more XP gained.
- 160 durability.
- The weapon is irreparable. The ritual also rewards its blueprint, which GameSpot says lets you craft a replacement after the sword breaks.
Currentness note
The detailed guides describing this route were published in September 2025. The official Dying Light site search surfaced 2026 Anniversary Update 1.7 notes, but the linked patch-notes page returned an error when opened. Whether that update changed the sigil gates or sword interaction has not been established.
