Unlock the Future Trunks and Jiren episodes
- Complete Goku’s Episode Battle. The unlock guide reports that this reveals the Future Trunks and Jiren episode selections.
- Choose the episode you want. Episode Battle includes eight character perspectives, among them Future Trunks and Jiren, according to Bandai Namco’s Game Modes Handbook.
- Set the difficulty to Normal for alternate timelines. PCGamesN says Sparking timeline events require Normal difficulty, rather than Easy.
- Check the stage objective before retrying. Open Battle Details in the relevant fight; it displays that stage’s unlock requirement.
The route details below come from guides published in October 2024. If a route does not trigger in your version, use the live Battle Details objective as the in-game reference; later patch changes were not established by those guides.

Future Trunks: unlock each alternate route
Shining Hope
In “Twisted World,” defeat Goku Black and Zamasu as quickly as possible. The fight is described as demanding. Follow the stage objective, and if the alternate route does not trigger, retry on Normal difficulty.
Inherited Pride or Embarking Toward Tomorrow
- After the battles against Goku Black and Zamasu, choose to stay and train in “Trunks’ Choice.”
- In “To Become Strongest in the Universe,” defeat Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta quickly.
- At “Father or Teamwork?”, choose follow Vegeta for Inherited Pride or go with Gohan for Embarking Toward Tomorrow.
These routes depend on both the earlier decision to stay and the final choice. Pro Game Guides describes the broad split as staying in the present versus returning to Trunks’ timeline; the mission-by-mission steps above are from PCGamesN.

Jiren: unlock each alternate route
True Strength
At “Saiyan Rampage,” choose “wait and see”. This sends the Tournament of Power onto the alternate path. Pro Game Guides explains that choosing to finish Kale instead follows the canonical route; the alternate path eventually returns to “Ultimate Climactic Battle.”
Strength Is Absolute
In the Tournament of Power’s final battle, quickly defeat Frieza, Android 17, and Goku to unlock this short alternate ending, according to Pro Game Guides.

If an episode or alternate ending will not unlock
- Future Trunks or Jiren is missing from Episode Battle: Complete Goku’s episode first.
- A Sparking path does not appear: Check that the difficulty is Normal, not Easy.
- You are unsure which objective a fight requires: Open that stage’s Battle Details and follow its listed condition.
- A quick-win route fails: Retry while prioritizing the listed opponent or opponents. PCGamesN gives “usually just under two minutes” as a general estimate for fights requiring a quick win, not a guaranteed timer for every stage.
