Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteShort answer: In Yakuza Kiwami 3, follow speech-bubble markers on the map, revisit locations as new chapters and prerequisites unlock quests, then complete all 30 ordinary substories, defeat all 36 Reapers and win every Coliseum match to unlock the final Amon substory. Dark Ties has its own side-content systems, but a complete, verified item-by-item unlock list is not established by the available published guides.
Spoiler note: The route examples below name side-story events and the final Amon encounter. For story order, finish Yakuza Kiwami 3 before starting Dark Ties; PowerPyx warns that Mine’s story can reveal changes to Kiwami 3’s ending.
How do I unlock every substory in Yakuza Kiwami 3?
Use the map’s speech-bubble icons as your main discovery system. PowerPyx reports that these markers appear when a substory is available. If no marker appears where you expect one, progress the main story, check whether a preceding substory is required, and revisit previously explored locations. Exact route details come from third-party guides that do not identify the game patch they checked, so availability may vary after updates.
The Gamer Social Club guide reports 30 ordinary substories across the game’s two cities, plus a separate final substory. Its examples show why checking chains and chapter thresholds matters:

- A LEGEND IS REBORN AND A NEW LEGACY BEGINS: Two men will walk different paths that converge to shake the very foundations of fate.
- Yakuza Kiwami 3: Continue the story of ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu as he fights to protect those he loves in an extreme remake of Yakuza 3 that evolves every aspect of the beloved game.
- Dark Ties: Experience the brand-new tale of Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 in an included separate game.
- Connected by Lalala Love: In Chapter 1, while walking with Haruka near Millennium Tower, the story prompts Kiryu to get a new phone. Connect with Lala Aizawa to finish the substory; the guide reports that it unlocks LaLaLa friends and phone customization.
- So Fast, Soba Delivery Run!: In Chapter 2, find the quest inside the public market in Downtown Ryukyu. Make seven deliveries and return to the soba stand. Wrong recipients or the wrong conversation approach can cost time.
- Master Kame Hit Me: The first challenge is on the beach opposite Morning Glory in Chapter 2. Hit Kame-san once within 30 seconds. The follow-ups are sequential: Master Kame Hit Me Returns requires the first quest, while Master Kame Hit Me: Endgame requires the second and Chapter 3.
- Downtown Ryukyu con-artist chain: Complete Excuse Me!, then Excuse Me Again!, then Well, Excuse YOU!. Each later encounter requires the preceding one; the final quest rewards a Haisai Girls recruit.
- Morning Glory parent-and-dog quests: It’s Tough Being A Dad begins at Morning Glory’s beach, and Keep At It Parents! requires the first quest. In the second, Mame digs up a hidden magazine. SEGA’s feature refers to the related event as “Keep At It, Parents!”; quest wording can differ between sources or localization.
- Akko-san’s visits: The guide lists an Okinawa encounter at the arcade entrance and a Tokyo follow-up south of Tenkaichi Street. Complete the earlier Akko-san quest to access the later one.
These are route examples, not a complete list of all 30 ordinary quests. For each available marker, use the location and prerequisite information in a walkthrough, then return to its location after advancing the chapter if the event has not triggered.
How do I unlock the final substory?
The final Amon substory is postgame completion content, not a quest to look for during ordinary chapter progression. PowerPyx and Gamer Social Club report that you must complete all 30 ordinary substories, defeat all 36 Reapers, and win every Coliseum match at least once. PowerPyx says a phone message in Premium Adventure points you to the final encounter once those requirements are met. These are guide-reported conditions, not a publisher-published checklist.

Do Dark Ties have substories?
Dark Ties is Mine’s separate story, and it uses different side-content systems from Kiryu’s Kiwami 3 campaign. SEGA identifies the Kanda Charisma Project and story-form Good Deeds quests, which involve investigating situations or helping residents. Its preview names “Capture the Serial Killer” and “Disrupt the Drunken Troublemakers” as examples.
The available public guide material does not provide a complete Dark Ties quest list with locations, chapter thresholds, and unlock requirements. Do not assume Kiryu’s map-marker behavior or substory chains apply to Mine; those mechanics have not been verified for Dark Ties. SEGA’s official feature describes the systems and examples, but not a full unlock walkthrough.
