MY HERO ACADEMIA: All’s Justice has characters earned through in-game conditions as well as paid DLC additions, but Bandai Namco has not published a complete character-by-character unlock list. The reliable starting point is to finish Team Up Mission, then complete any mission in which you recruit a character so the unlock can register. Keep early-access offers and DLC separate from the base-game roster.
How character unlocks work
There are three different ways a character can become available: meeting an in-game condition, receiving early-unlock access through a specific offer, or buying a DLC character. An early-unlock entitlement bypasses an in-game condition; it is not a separate character. DLC characters are paid additions and are not required to unlock the base-game roster.
Bandai Namco describes the playable roster on its official character page, but the publisher’s reviewed material does not give a complete list of each base-game character’s unlock condition. That means a guide promising every exact route should be treated cautiously unless it identifies current, verifiable conditions.
Complete Team Up Mission to unlock Hero’s Diary
Team Up Mission is the key progression step confirmed by the publisher: completing it unlocks Hero’s Diary, a mode with episodes for the 20 Class 1-A students. Producer Aoba Miyazaki stated this in a January 12, 2026 PlayStation Blog post.

Completing Team Up Mission opens Hero’s Diary; it should not be mistaken for a complete unlock guide to the entire playable roster. The official explanation establishes this mode gate, not every character’s condition.
Finish a mission after recruiting a character
A community trophy guide reports that recruiting someone during Team Up Mission is not enough if you leave before the mission ends. Reach the results or score screen so the unlock registers. This is community-reported advice, not a publisher-confirmed universal rule.

The guide gives a few examples, rather than an exhaustive roster list:
- Mezo Shoji: recruited during Field Research: Hasuna District; the guide says a fight is required.
- Toru Hagakure: found in Hasuna District; the guide says no fight is required.
- Shoto Todoroki: located during Unwavering Conviction.
- Tenya Iida: unlocked by completing Unwavering Conviction.
These examples come from the community trophy walkthrough. If a recruit does not appear in your roster, finish the current mission and check again before repeating it.

Early-unlock characters depend on the platform offer
Bandai Namco’s Nintendo Switch 2 announcement names Izuku Midoriya Rising and All For One Chaos as characters that otherwise unlock by fulfilling in-game conditions. The publisher describes the early-unlock pack as a preorder bonus in its official game listing. This is specific to that Switch 2 offer: it does not establish an ongoing way to buy the pack, or that the same offer applies on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam.
Paid DLC characters are separate from base-game unlocks
Bandai Namco’s DLC listing identifies Star and Stripe, Nana Shimura, and Izuku Midoriya Overlay Full Style as DLC characters. The Season Pass covers five characters, but the listing does not name two of its character slots. It says the DLC characters will be available by February 6, 2027; check the store for your platform for current release and purchase availability.

See the official game and DLC listing for the publisher’s current details. Buying DLC is optional and does not unlock the game’s base roster.

The publisher lists All’s Justice for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, with physical editions available. Its announcement gives September 4, 2026 as the Nintendo Switch 2 version’s launch date. Platform matters when checking early-access entitlements and store availability, so confirm that a listing matches your system.

The roster and offers can change with updates and DLC. Bandai Namco’s page identifies a September 3, 2026 Ver. 4.00 update and DLC activity through 2027; consult the current game and platform listings rather than assuming an older unlock guide covers the latest version.
