Unlocking all 21 Prismatic Fragments means completing The Final Shape campaign, exploring the Pale Heart for combat and puzzle chests, and finishing post-campaign Micah-10 activities to earn Vestiges for memory chests. You need to own The Final Shape to access Prismatic. The routes below follow location guides published in June 2024; Bungie’s current FAQ confirms the broad unlock methods but does not list every route.
What you need to unlock all the Fragments
- Ownership: Bungie says Prismatic requires The Final Shape. Its Pale Heart campaign progression includes Fragment rewards, with additional unlocks tied to adventures, side missions, and other Pale Heart objectives. Bungie’s Monument of Triumph FAQ
- Campaign progress: Complete the campaign to gain access to its later missions and post-campaign quest progression.
- Exploration and activities: Several chests require combat, hidden Ghosts, environmental puzzles, or a key earned from a local encounter.
- Micah-10 quest progression: The Light Vestige route uses Cyst activities opened through Micah-10’s post-campaign quests, including Convalescence and Alone in the Dark.
Bungie stated that 21 Prismatic Fragments were available at The Final Shape launch. It also said acquired Fragments unlock for all of a player’s characters. That is a launch-era count, not a freshly verified 2026 inventory. Bungie’s Prismatic deep dive
Campaign and early Pale Heart chests
Facet of Grace
In the Pale Heart area behind Micah-10, defeat the three Gordian Weavers. Return to the central area and defeat the Subjugator/Tormentor encounter, then go back to the chest.
Facet of Bravery
Reach the Frozen Cosmodrome Wall in The Divide, either from The Impasse or during the Ascent mission. At the destroyed plane, look over the cliff for the chest in the lower section of the wreckage.

Facet of Devotion
During the Dissent mission escape sequence, continue straight after the Pillar of Devotion encounter where the usual route turns right. The chest is at the end, on the left.
Facet of Sacrifice
In Iconoclasm, find the torn War Beast statue and take the side room to its left. Climb to the small ledge and follow the path to the chest.

On the Lost City/Pale Heart route behind Micah-10, locate four hidden Ghosts. Continue to the memory encounter, cleanse the central plate while fighting enemies, and defeat the Subjugator to get the key. Use it to open the chest.

In the crystal room on the route from The Landing toward The Refraction, use the red Solar crystal. From the upper or opposite side of the room, read the three runes and match them. Correct deposits spawn a boss; defeat it to get the chest key.

Facet of Command
In The Divide at the Cosmodrome Wall, take the Scorch Cannon from the terminal and use it to break ice blocks. The blocks reveal Arc, Solar, and Void charges. Charge the generators, defeat the Subjugator, and collect the key to open the chest. The published guides specify two charges for Arc, three for Solar, and four for Void.
Facet of Defiance
In The Transgression, enter the cave behind the large tree. Keep the darkness protection buff active and destroy the Taken Acolyte Eyes each time the encounter repeats. Defeat the Tormentor for the chest key.

Use Vestige memories to find five more Fragment chests
Collect five Darkness Vestiges from Pale Heart chests and puzzles to form a Darkness memory. Five Vestiges of Light from Cyst missions form a Light memory. Each memory points to a chest location. The Light Vestige route requires post-campaign Micah-10 quest progress to unlock the Cysts.
Facet of Solitude
Follow the Darkness memory guides call Memory: Impasse or Impassive Darkness. Go to the edge of the map near the entrance to The Transgression and search the rock or ledge for the chest. If the memory name differs, follow the marker and wording shown in your game.

Use Memory: Divisive Darkness and travel to the Cosmodrome Wall in The Divide. Near the top of the wall, check the cliff edge for a balcony ledge and chest.
Facet of Awakening
Use Memory: Refractions of Light. In The Refraction, look for the chest on elevated branches.
Facet of Dominance
Use Memory: Seclusions of Light and search The Seclusion near Zavala’s home. Check around the log and rock by the waterfall.
Facet of Generosity
Use Memory: Blooming of Light. In The Blooming, search around the roots of the central tree.

The detailed chest directions and memory-name variants above come from June 2024 guides by PC Gamer and Shacknews, rather than a complete official Bungie route list. Bungie’s FAQ confirms the general categories of Fragment unlocks, but the consulted Bungie pages do not verify every individual route. If an in-game memory label or marker differs from a guide’s wording, use the in-game cue to identify the destination.
