If a Pack you own is missing, open the library or add-ons area for the platform where you play and start its download there. The steps depend on whether you bought it through the EA app, the in-game Marketplace, PlayStation, or Xbox.
Before downloading: update the base game
Install and update The Sims 4 before adding a Pack. On PC and Mac, the EA app is EA’s main app for downloading and launching the game; it has replaced Origin. The EA app on Mac requires macOS Catalina or later. If your purchase was made through a different platform, use that platform’s library or add-on controls.
Download a Pack in the EA app on PC or Mac
- Open the EA app and sign in if prompted.
- Select Library, then choose The Sims 4.
- Choose Manage > Manage Add-ons.
- Under Owned add-ons, find the Pack and select its Download icon.
If the Pack is listed under owned add-ons but not installed, this is the manual download option.
Install a Marketplace Pack
On PC or Mac, a Marketplace Pack bought with real money should download automatically to the platform you use to play The Sims 4, including the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games. If it is missing, install it from the game:

- Create Vampires
- Unleash Supernatural Powers
- Escape to Forgotten Hollow
- Live the Immortal Life
- Launch The Sims 4 and open Marketplace.
- Go to My Collection > Manage Storage.
- Select the Pack, choose Install, and confirm.
Marketplace content bought on the web is added to your EA Account and appears in-game, but it may still need downloading. In the EA app, select Download or Redeem after purchase. In-game Marketplace use requires an internet connection, and a recent purchase may not appear until you reconnect.
Marketplace purchases on the web are available only to PC and Mac players. Console players may browse the Marketplace on the web, but must make purchases in-game. Console accounts must be linked to an EA Account to use the Marketplace.

Install a Pack on PlayStation
EA’s manual download sequence below is for PS4. EA says the steps for PS5 and the PlayStation Store website vary, so use PlayStation support for those flows rather than assuming the PS4 menus apply.
- Open the PlayStation menu and select Library.
- Select Purchased, then The Sims 4.
- Select Game Library and Your Collection.
- Under Add-Ons, select the Pack.
- Select the download icon. The Pack installs when the download finishes.
Install a Pack on Xbox
Xbox Packs generally install automatically if the console’s default Keep my games & apps up to date setting is enabled. To install a missing Pack manually:

- Press the Xbox button and open My games & apps > See all > Full library > Owned games.
- Highlight The Sims 4 and press the Menu button.
- Choose Manage game & add-ons.
- Check the Pack and select Install.
Check whether the Pack installed
- EA app: Open Library > The Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons. Installed content appears under Installed add-ons & in-game content; owned but uninstalled Packs appear under Owned add-ons.
- In-game Marketplace: Open My Collection > Manage Storage. A selected Pack marked Active in green is installed.
- Download Manager: Open it from the game’s Options Menu. A successful download shows Install Complete. Download Manager only shows very recent downloads.
If you bought a code or disc
These steps apply to redeeming or installing a code or PC disc, rather than downloading a digital Pack already attached to your account.
Redeem a product code in the EA app
- Open Library and select + Redeem Code.
- Enter the code, select Next, then Confirm.
- Choose Download with the EA app.
Install from a PC disc
Insert the disc and follow the on-screen prompts. Sign in to the EA app and enter the included code if prompted.
