On PC, open Settings → Control in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, then choose Combat to remap a combat action. On console, change controller inputs through the available custom controller preset. The exact options depend on your platform and the action you want to change.
Change a keybind on PC

Open PUBG’s System Menu → Settings → Control. In the lobby, open Settings from the menu; during a match, press Esc to open the system menu. PUBG Support’s mouse and keyboard settings describes this route.

For a combat action, select Control → Combat. PUBG’s controls FAQ says keys can be changed in this section.

Find the action you want to change and use the on-screen control to assign a key. Check the displayed binding once you have set it.

Some default bindings listed in PUBG Support’s basic game commands include W/A/S/D for movement, C for crouch, Z for prone, Space for jump and vault, and Shift for sprint. These are defaults, not required assignments.
If the new key does not behave as expected
Check that you are changing the right settings category and that the same key is not assigned to another action. PUBG’s Update 42.2 patch notes, published July 14, 2026, describe a specific case in which M, U, or Y shortcuts can take precedence over an earlier assignment in the same key settings category; assignments in other categories can remain active and trigger together. This example applies to the behavior described in that update, not necessarily to every binding conflict.

Change controller inputs on console
Console controls use controller inputs rather than PC keyboard bindings. Look for the custom controller preset in the game’s control settings and choose the function you want to adjust. Available changes depend on the function and preset.
For example, Update 19.2 directs console players to custom controller presets to customize Limited Interact, and says those inputs can be modified but not removed entirely. Update 42.2 documents later console input changes and custom assignments for two listed functions when using a custom preset. Check the current control screen for your platform and preset, since game updates can change the available settings.

Is this a PUBG binding or a Windows keyboard setting?
To assign a key to an in-game PUBG action, use the game’s Control settings. To change how a keyboard or mouse behaves in Windows outside PUBG, PUBG Support points to Windows Control Panel → Keyboard or Mouse; those device settings do not remap a key to a PUBG action. A redeem code is a different kind of “key” and is unrelated to changing controls.
