To upgrade your skateboard in High On Life 2, go to Reptical’s shop on the Beach map, find the wheelie bin behind it, and interact nearby to reach the hidden upgrade area. The functional upgrades there use Skate Letters, which guides say you can earn from races and skateboard challenges.

What Skate Letters do
Skate Letters are the currency the guides associate with the hidden inventory’s functional skateboard upgrades. The public shop also offers cosmetic items, so do not assume that every skateboard item there changes how the board works. According to the walkthroughs, functional upgrades use Skate Letters rather than Pesos.

The skateboard is more than a way to move around. In an Xbox Wire interview published February 12, 2026, High On Life 2 Chief Design Officer Erich Meyr said the board fits the game’s traversal rhythm and influences combat without taking it over. The interview provides that gameplay context, but does not specify the effects of individual upgrades.
