Below are the documented triggers and routes, with secret tapes and hidden decks kept distinct from the spaces themselves.
Before you start: what counts as a hidden area?
Guides do not agree on a definitive inventory. Patch Crazy lists twelve level entries, while XboxPlay adds Movie Studio and describes several Cruise Ship locations separately. They also differ in how they name or divide some spaces, including Foundry and Cruise Ship. The routes below cover locations documented by those guides; they should not be read as an official total.
A hidden area is a traversable space or newly accessible zone. A secret tape or hidden deck is a collectible, even when a guide describes its route alongside an area. For example, the Canada directions below lead to the Secret Tape, while Rio’s deck is a collectible within a concealed space. Goal- and key-unlocked areas
Suburbia: Haunted House
Complete the “Help the Thin Man” goal to unlock the Haunted House. A front-door shortcut described by Patch Crazy triggers a cutscene and a fall into the void; treat that as a shortcut or easter egg, not the unlock condition.

Alcatraz: cellblock interior
- Collect five keys: one is near a trash bin in the starting area, and four more are in trash bins around the Courtyard.
- Go to the Main Prison and release the prisoner to access the cellblock interior.
XboxPlay also locates the keys around the prison yard, but describes their containers differently. The Courtyard and starting-area landmarks above follow Patch Crazy’s route rather than assuming every key is in a particular type of bin.
Waterpark: Arcade area
- Collect the keys just to the right of the starting point to open the Arcade doors. XboxPlay gives a supplemental route to the keys: grind the rail far to the right of spawn to reach the rooftops, then follow the right wall.
- Inside the Arcade, grind the railings to restore power and open access to the secret area.
Areas opened by grinding or breaking through
Foundry: generator core / Helix Room
Grind the rail in front of each of the five valves around the map’s outer edges. Patch Crazy says this opens the generator core behind you at the starting point. Its landmarks are to go down the left ramp from spawn, pass the flaming tanks, continue down the next ramp, go up the ramp directly ahead, then pass the half-pipe. XboxPlay calls the room the Helix Room and describes grates opening to underground sections, so the guides differ on the space’s name and boundaries.

Rio: fenced space and hidden deck
Break through the fence, then use the nearby bowl to launch upward into the concealed space. The deck there is a hidden-deck collectible, not the area itself.
Los Angeles: earthquake sequence
Grind the four handrails around the tower near the starting point to trigger the earthquake sequence and open access to the earthquake area. Keep this separate from the Iron Galaxy logo route: Patch Crazy says to grind the wire to the right of spawn, ride it up, and drop into a building. It also says the glass door opens after completing “They are Great Gap”, which involves breaking the glass, performing a boneless, and grinding through railings. Those directions concern the logo and goal, not the earthquake-area trigger.

Tokyo: extra skatepark
Grind the wires holding the large round wall sign to open the skatepark behind it. XboxPlay identifies the neon skater sign as left of the stage spawn point; use that as an orientation clue.
Cruise Ship: museum coin, lifeboat, pool, and bow
The guides divide and label Cruise Ship’s concealed spaces differently, so follow the trigger for the space you want rather than relying on a single count.

- Museum: Grind the wires supporting the giant gold coin to open the area Patch Crazy calls “Safe Nets on the Nose.”
- Raised lifeboat: XboxPlay associates this area with delivering a toolbox to a worker.
- Drained pool: XboxPlay says to grind the rail with a valve to drain the pool.
- Bow: XboxPlay describes an area near the bow tied to a stunt gauntlet and the giant gold medal.
Zoo: boarded-up space
Head right and smash through the wooden barriers to enter the hidden area. Patch Crazy also describes reaching it by jumping toward the edge of the building. XboxPlay calls the space the Monkey Exhibit or Boarded-Up Atrium and mentions an open Giraffe enclosure door that warps to an upper level; these are that guide’s labels and route details.

Canada: concealed route to the Secret Tape
- Turn around from the start to build speed and use the ramp to reach the upper platform.
- Continue to the wooden boardwalk near the quarter-pipe beside the Half-Pipe.
- Use the quarter-pipe and angled ramp to reach the slanted Half-Pipe.
- Build speed, jump to the nearest rail, and grind to its end for the Secret Tape.
Patch Crazy’s description blurs the tape route and a “secret area.” These steps establish a route to the concealed location and tape, not a separately verified room unlock.

Airport: baggage-check area
From the starting line, enter the baggage-checking area and move forward on the right to reach a helicopter in the hidden area. Patch Crazy gives no further landmarks for this short route.
Skater Island: Bikini Bottom Secret
Go outside toward the pirate ship, reach its front, and jump into the water to access the location Patch Crazy calls the Bikini Bottom Secret. Push Square’s guide index also lists a page for finding the Bikini Bottom Secret Area.
Movie Studio: sewer hideout
XboxPlay describes a Ninja Turtles sewer hideout. Find the glowing green sewer cover near the start and drop through it. This entry does not appear in Patch Crazy’s twelve-entry list, one reason the guide inventories should not be combined into a definitive total.
What the guides do—and do not—establish
Patch Crazy’s area guide provides routes for twelve entries; XboxPlay’s guide adds Movie Studio, details multiple Cruise Ship triggers, and says College, San Francisco, Kona, Shipyard, London, and Pinball have no secret area. The discrepancy appears to reflect differences in inclusion and how broadly a guide counts a space. The available Activision material does not provide a complete area catalog.

Activision’s August 20, 2025 version 2.0 patch notes report a fix for the hidden-deck tracker not appearing until all hidden decks were collected, along with fixes for missing uncollected Crew Tour hidden decks in Alcatraz, College, and San Francisco. These are collectible-tracking fixes, not changes to the area unlock routes described above.
