Why can playthrough times vary?
Zelda uses the Tri Rod to create echoes—imitations of objects and enemies found in the world—and can recreate them to solve puzzles or fight. Nintendo’s examples include using water blocks to reach higher places, beds as bridges, and monster echoes in combat. How much time you spend exploring, experimenting with those tools, and pursuing optional content can affect your personal total; the guides do not quantify the time added by any one activity.
For a fair comparison between two playthroughs, check whether each number means story-only or includes optional content, which collectibles and quests were completed, and whether it is a general estimate or one person’s recorded run.
