In Enshrouded, Veilwater Basin is a high-level region between Blackmire and the Albaneve Summits. The official Wake of the Water update notes confirm that you can enter through either region. For the clearest guide-described approach, travel to the Albaneve Summits, head west, and glide down toward the basin.
Where Veilwater Basin is and what to expect
Veilwater Basin sits between Blackmire and the Albaneve Summits. Keen Games’ Update #7, version 0.9.0.0, published November 10, 2025, describes it as a tropical region of forests, lakes, rivers, and ruins, with Drak enemies.
The developer says enemy levels suggest arriving as a level 35 character with good equipment. That is a recommendation based on the enemies, not a stated entry requirement or access lock.
Choose an approach
| Starting area | Route | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Albaneve Summits | Head west and glide down toward the basin. Look along the mountainside for a large opening near a fortress-like structure. | Officially confirmed access region; the glide and landmark details come from Destructoid and Dot Esports. |
| Blackmire | Head east from the Blackmire Ancient Spire, according to Destructoid’s guide. | Officially confirmed access region; the direction from the Spire is guide advice. |
| Nomad Highlands | Destructoid describes scaling the mountains north of the Nomad Highlands fast-travel point. | Guide-described alternate approach; the official update specifically confirms Blackmire and Albaneve, not Nomad Highlands. |
Albaneve route: glide west and search the slope
- Fast-travel to an available point in the Albaneve Summits area.
- Travel west, looking for a large opening in the mountainside near a fortress-like structure.
- Glide down through the opening toward Veilwater Basin. The passage can be easy to miss, so scan the slope rather than assuming the first visible route is the entrance.
Destructoid characterizes this as the easier approach, but the guides do not provide official coordinates or establish that it is easiest for every character or map state.

Prepare for the water and the enemies
Bring high-level gear
Use level 35 with good equipment as Keen Games’ suggested readiness benchmark, not as a gate that prevents lower-level characters from entering.
Plan for underwater exploration
Update #7 adds swimming, diving, and underwater interactions. Destructoid places the basin’s Ancient Spire in Lake Heartblood and says its fast-travel point can be unlocked either by climbing the side or by diving underwater. If you choose the dive, bring an in-game oxygen aid: the guide mentions sushi made with algae, cooked rice, and Silverback Fish.

Do not expect to fight underwater
Keen Games says weapons and other combat are unavailable underwater. Avoid close enemy encounters while submerged, or return to land before fighting.

- Choose Albaneve if you want the guide-recommended glide route and can spot the mountainside opening.
- Choose Blackmire if you are already nearby; it is the other route explicitly confirmed by the official update.
- Consider Nomad Highlands only as a guide-described alternative, rather than an access route named in the official notes.
The directions above reflect the sources’ descriptions of Update #7. Later patches may change map access or balance, so check the current in-game map if a route no longer matches what you see.
