To reach the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device, travel to Toyac Springs in Natlan, use the nearby surface Teleport Waypoint, and head south to a ravine beneath a wooden bridge. Drop into the cavern and follow its path to the boss. The route is described by Game8 and Beebom; HoYoverse confirms the boss is in Toyac Springs in its Version 5.1 update details.
Route to the boss
- Travel to the nearby surface Teleport Waypoint in Toyac Springs, Natlan.
- Head a short distance south and look beneath the wooden bridge for a ravine.
- Drop into the ravine’s underground cavern and follow the path until you reach the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device.
The bridge and ravine are practical landmarks given by route guides, not landmarks named in HoYoverse’s official update. Game8’s guide was updated March 7, 2026; Beebom also describes this entrance, though its publication date is not established.

Do you need to unlock a quest first?
The route guides describe reaching the cavern from the surface, and the official update places the boss in Toyac Springs. These sources identify no quest prerequisite, so the route appears to be a matter of navigation rather than a quest unlock.
What to know about the fight
HoYoverse says that keeping a character in Nightsoul’s Blessing advances the automaton’s Adaptive Countermeasures. The boss then prepares the Boltsphere Cannon and activates Accretion Mechanisms.

When the cannon sequence begins, climb the Solid Phlogiston and enter the energy field to attack an Accretion Mechanism. Destroying a mechanism interrupts the charge, according to HoYoverse’s Version 5.1 update details.
