Where Complex Root drops
Complex Root is a legendary Maliwan sniper rifle that can drop from Mimicron, the boss inside the Tipping Point Order Bunker at Idolator’s Noose in the Fadefields. The route and repeat-farm method are described in Mobalytics’ Borderlands 4 guide.

How to reach Mimicron
- Progress into the Fadefields and travel to Idolator’s Noose. Find the Tipping Point Order Bunker.
- If the entrance is sealed, face the bunker from the bottom of its stairs and go left toward the northwest corner. Enter the vent with the broken fan, climb the platforms, and pick up the bio canister in the small room.
- Drop through the opening in the floor to return outside, then throw the canister at the bunker door.
- Fight through the Order troops until you reach Mimicron.

Repeat the Mimicron farm
- Defeat Mimicron and inspect the loot for Complex Root.
- Return to the arena and activate the Encore Machine to respawn the boss.
- Defeat Mimicron again and repeat as needed.
Lootlemon’s page, updated April 9, 2026, lists a 9% Complex Root chance from Mimicron, a “Bonus Chance: +2% × UVH,” and a 30% Big Encore figure. These are third-party database figures, not an official drop table verified by Gearbox, so they are estimates rather than a promise of how many attempts you will need: Lootlemon’s Complex Root entry.

What to look for in a Complex Root drop
The rifle’s Sierpinski effect spawns additional diverging projectiles along the shot’s path. Reported element rolls include kinetic, fire/incendiary, shock, radiation, cryo, and corrosive. Parts can also vary, including parts from manufacturers other than Maliwan; the weapon is not guaranteed to have Maliwan’s elemental-swapping feature. When comparing drops, weigh the element against your build and the enemy you want to use it on, then consider the rolled parts. The available guides do not establish a single best roll for every build, so a universal “god roll” claim would be misleading.

Can you get Complex Root another way?
Gearbox listed Complex Root as the Legendary Gear Reward for a Wildcard Mission in its June 18–25 weekly activity announcement. That was a time-limited weekly reward; the announcement does not establish that the mission offers it now.
