To upgrade a crafting station in ARC Raiders, open the Workshop in the Raider Den, select the station, and view its Level Up tab. Collect the listed materials during raids, extract with them, then return to the station and confirm the upgrade. The basic Workbench is fixed at level 1; use the separate station tabs to upgrade other crafting stations.
How to upgrade a station
- Open the Workshop. In the Raider Den, interact with the Workshop or open the Workshop tab from the stash menu.
- Select the station you want to upgrade. Choose an upgradeable station, then switch to its Level Up tab.
- Check the live material list. The station screen shows what the next level requires and can track materials, according to GameSpot’s guide. Use this screen for exact quantities in your current game build.
- Collect the required items and extract. Materials gathered in a raid only help if you return with them.
- Confirm the upgrade. Back in the Raider Den, reopen the same station and complete the upgrade from its Level Up tab.
Which stations can you upgrade?
The starter Workbench is free and remains at level 1. The other crafting stations have their own upgrade paths:
- Gunsmith: weapons and weapon mods.
- Gear Bench: shields and Raider augments.
- Medical Lab: healing items.
- Explosives Station: grenades and explosives.
- Utility Station: gadgets and utility items.
- Refiner: processes materials into components used around the Workshop.
- Scrappy: has a separate upgrade chain.
Initial station costs
The listed installation costs below come from third-party station references, including ARC Raiders Hub and All Things How. They are not a substitute for the live Workshop screen, since requirements can change with game updates.

What later upgrades require
Requirements vary by station and tier. The following examples illustrate how later levels call for more specialized materials; listed level-two and level-three items are from ARC Raiders Hub unless noted.

Explosives Station
- Level 2: Synthesized Fuel, Crude Explosives, and Pop Triggers.
- Level 3: Laboratory Reagents, Explosive Compound, and Rocketeer Drivers.
Utility Station
- Level 2: Damaged Heat Sinks, Electrical Components, and Snitch Scanners.
- Level 3: Fried Motherboards, Advanced Electrical Components, and Leaper Pulse Units.
Refiner
The Refiner turns raw materials into advanced components. A complete, conflict-free list of every Refiner tier’s requirements is not established in the cited references, so check its Level Up screen for the current list.
Why an item may still be unavailable after an upgrade
Station level and blueprint ownership are separate requirements. A blueprint does not let you craft an item if its matching station has not reached the required level; upgrading a station also does not automatically teach every recipe. Check both the item’s blueprint status and the station level required for that craft.

Which station should you upgrade first?
There is no universally best order. Choose based on what you want to craft, then compare the next level’s material list and whether the desired recipe also requires a blueprint. For example, prioritize the Gunsmith for weapon-related crafting, the Gear Bench for shields or augments, or the Medical Lab for healing items. Verify the current requirements in each station’s Level Up tab before committing materials.
