To upgrade the Gunsmith in ARC Raiders, gather the materials for the next level, then use the Gunsmith in your base’s Workshop and apply the available upgrade. Community-maintained databases list three Gunsmith levels, with costs increasing at each step. Because the official Frozen Trail preview does not confirm whether those costs changed in the October 8, 2026 launch build, check the requirements shown in your game before spending materials.
Gunsmith upgrade costs
The following requirements are reported by the ARC Raiders Database and ARC Raiders Hub. Treat them as a planning reference, not a confirmed list for every live build.

How to upgrade the Gunsmith
- Gather the materials listed for the next Gunsmith level. The quantities above come from community databases; compare them with the requirements currently displayed in your game.
- Open the Workshop in your base and select the Gunsmith.
- Choose the available level upgrade and confirm it in-game. The sources do not establish a current, platform-specific button sequence, so follow the controls shown by your game.
What the Gunsmith upgrade does
The Gunsmith is an advanced weapon-crafting station. Its community-listed levels represent station progression and associated crafting unlocks. Upgrading it is not the same as raising a weapon’s quality through the Research Workstation.
Gunsmith vs. Research Workstation in Frozen Trail
Frozen Trail introduced a separate Research Workstation in the Outpost. In its September 23, 2026 preview, Embark said that fully upgrading this workstation lets Raiders access a fifth quality level for a range of guns. The preview describes branching abilities and enhancements that change weapon behavior, with rollout announced across 15 weapons. These are Research Workstation features, not Gunsmith levels.

Embark’s Frozen Trail preview announced the update for October 8, 2026, but it does not publish a complete Gunsmith material table or confirm whether the community-listed costs match the launch build. Check the current requirement panel before farming or committing materials; the live game is the relevant reference if its displayed cost differs from the table above.
