Pokémon Café Mix is now called Pokémon Café ReMix, available as a free-to-start game on Nintendo Switch and mobile. To recruit Pokémon, serve customers by completing orders and build their friendship; to earn Golden Acorns, complete successful orders. Acorns can also be used to bring in different customer Pokémon, but official sources do not establish a universal current unlock sequence for Pikachu or a complete acorn reward schedule.
How recruitment works in Pokémon Café ReMix
Orders are the core of recruitment: solve a café puzzle for a visiting Pokémon, raise its friendship, and meet the friendship requirement for it to offer to join your staff. Nintendo’s page for the original Pokémon Café Mix describes the threshold this way: “Get a customer’s Friendship gauge high enough and they’ll offer to come and work for you!” The current game retains friendship-based recruitment; see Pokémon Support’s description of Pokémon Café ReMix and Nintendo’s Switch listing.
In ReMix’s Visiting Mode, you can choose which visiting Pokémon to serve. The game’s official news archive also describes extra and heaping-helping orders as ways to build friendship, and says Golden Acorns can be used to bring in different customer Pokémon. Those details describe the mode in the cited update, not a guarantee that any particular visitor is available now. Check the live game’s notices for current visitors.
Can you recruit Pikachu, and how?
The official news archive includes a historical reference to “Order #600: Pikachu with chef’s whites.” That is an outfit-and-order reference from update history, not proof that every current player must complete Order #600 to recruit standard Pikachu. The official sources available here do not confirm a universal, current Pikachu-specific unlock route.

Use the same general recruitment approach as for other customers: check whether Pikachu is currently visiting or available through the game’s customer options, serve it, and build friendship. Availability can vary with updates, events, and outfits, so rely on the current in-game information rather than treating an old milestone as a present-day requirement. Nintendo’s Pokémon Café Mix / ReMix news archive is useful for understanding the historical reference, but it is not a live roster calendar.
How to get more Golden Acorns
Complete orders successfully. Nintendo UK says successful orders earn Golden Acorns, but the official sources do not provide a complete current amount per order or a definitive schedule of repeatable rewards. The exact amount you receive should therefore be checked in the live game rather than assumed from an old guide.

- Play orders and collect the Golden Acorns awarded in-game.
- Check current in-game notices and reward screens for any event-specific opportunities.
- Use Acorns when you want one of their supported benefits; there is no official source here establishing a universally best spending priority.
Nintendo lists upgrades, consumable items, and additional moves among the uses for Golden Acorns. ReMix’s Visiting Mode also uses them to bring in different customer Pokémon. The Nintendo UK page’s explanation of rewards and uses is at Pokémon Café ReMix – download software.
Are purchases required?
No. Pokémon Support describes Pokémon Café ReMix as free-to-start and says purchases are optional. Paid items are handled through the in-game shop and the relevant platform store; the shop can be opened from the Golden Acorn bar or Shop icon. Payment methods depend on country or region. Which game name and version should you look for?
The original Pokémon Café Mix was revamped and renamed Pokémon Café ReMix. It is a puzzle game on Switch and mobile in which orders build friendships with Pokémon who may join the café team. Nintendo Support’s update history lists Ver. 6.80.0 as released May 13, 2026, but that version listing does not establish today’s Pikachu availability or an acorn reward table.
