To clear a wanted alert in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, either wait for the next season change or remove it sooner with Scouts from the World Map. The Scout option requires a level-two Kakurega at your Hideout and, according to GamesRadar+, costs two Scouts for the affected region. If only one protagonist is wanted, you can switch to the other to keep playing there—but the first character’s alert remains.
What triggers a wanted alert?
The guides describe the alert as starting when a guard spots an offense and reaches an alarm bell; being spotted alone is not the full trigger. Once triggered, the alert applies to the region, so enemies react to the wanted protagonist throughout that region rather than only near the alarm. The alert is tied to both the region and the affected character. Shacknews and GamesRadar+ describe this as wanted status or a wanted alert, rather than a numeric meter.
Choose how to clear it

Clear the alert with Scouts
- Build the Kakurega at your Hideout and upgrade it to level 2.
- Open the World Map and select the region with the alert.
- Choose the prompt to clear the status with Scouts. GamesRadar+ reports a cost of two Scouts for that region.
Shacknews also describes the level-two building requirement and map action, but spells the building “Kakegura.” Check the building name and on-screen prompt in your game version.
Use the other protagonist as a workaround
If the alert affects only one character, switch to the other protagonist to continue in that region. This changes who you play as; it does not remove the first character’s alert. If both protagonists are wanted there, this workaround will not restore access through the unaffected character.
