To use a soundboard in Roblox voice chat on desktop, connect to voice in an eligible, voice-enabled experience, then route a soundboard app’s virtual microphone to Roblox as your input device. Roblox’s voice requirements come first; the soundboard then sends its clips through the same microphone path Roblox is receiving.
Before you set up a soundboard
Make sure your account can use voice chat
Roblox currently requires users to be at least 13 and complete an age check to access voice chat. Its current instructions list ID verification or facial age estimation; phone verification does not grant voice access under the updated rules. Available verification methods can vary by region and account. Roblox’s voice chat help page also notes that voice chat may not be available in certain regions.
Join an experience that supports voice
Voice chat must be supported by the experience, and you must connect to voice after joining. Roblox says the experience’s Description page indicates whether voice chat is supported. In the experience, use the headphone control or the in-experience settings to connect. Roblox’s setup instructions and voice chat overview explain the connection process.
Set up a soundboard on desktop
Voicemod documents a software-based method for Roblox: the app takes your physical microphone input and exposes a virtual microphone for Roblox to use. The steps below describe that vendor’s setup; controls and availability can differ by app version and operating system.

- Install and open the soundboard app. Keep it running while you play, because it provides the virtual microphone Roblox will receive.
- Choose your devices in the soundboard app. In Voicemod, set your physical microphone as the input and your headphones as the output.
- Choose the virtual microphone in Roblox. Set Voicemod Virtual Microphone as Roblox’s input device. Keep your headphones as the output so you can still hear the game and voice chat.
- Load clips and trigger them. Use the soundboard controls or assign and use hotkeys, as supported by the app.
- Connect to voice in the experience. A soundboard can send audio through the mic path, but other players will not receive it unless Roblox is connected to voice and receiving the virtual microphone.

If other players cannot hear the clips
- Confirm the voice connection. Make sure the experience supports voice and that you joined its voice chat.
- Check Roblox’s input device. It should be the soundboard app’s virtual microphone, not the physical microphone if you expect Roblox to receive the app’s output.
- Check the app’s device choices. In Voicemod’s documented setup, the physical microphone is the app input and headphones are the output. Do not select its virtual microphone as your headphone output.
- Keep the soundboard app open. The virtual microphone depends on the app running.
These checks follow Voicemod’s routing instructions; they are not a guarantee that every soundboard or device configuration behaves identically.

Using a soundboard on mobile or console
The software virtual-microphone method above is the clearest documented route for desktop. Voicemod markets VMKey Pocket as an external audio-routing bridge for mobile and console, and shows Roblox soundboard use. It is an optional vendor-marketed approach, not a requirement for desktop play.
