To get a Worm Tooth in Dune: Awakening, let a sandworm eat your character, then check your inventory after you respawn. - Leave your sandbike behind. The guide specifically advises against taking it into the attempt.
How to get the Worm Tooth
- Head onto open sand without equipment or valuables you need to keep.
- Run or otherwise create vibrations to draw a sandworm. Sandworms are attracted to vibrations and patrol territory, according to the community mechanics reference.
- Let the sandworm eat you. The Worm Tooth item reference identifies death to a sandworm as the way to obtain it: Worm Tooth.
- After respawning, check your inventory for the tooth.
Is the Worm Tooth a guaranteed drop?
No verified drop rate or guarantee is established in the available sources. The PC Gamer author says they received a tooth on each attempt, but also allows that they may have been lucky. If one does not appear, the sources do not establish that repeating the attempt will always produce one.
What the Worm Tooth is used for
The community item reference lists a Personal Fabricator recipe that uses one Worm Tooth and one Plant Fiber to make one Unfixed Crysknife. The reference describes the Crysknife as dealing large damage but breaking on its first hit. See the Worm Tooth item entry for the recipe.
Can you buy a Worm Tooth on the Exchange?
Do not rely on the Exchange to acquire one. Funcom’s Chapter 3 patch notes say, “Worm Tooth and other non-listable items are now hidden from the Exchange sell menu.”

Funcom’s Steam announcement feed lists hotfix 1.5.3.6, dated October 6, 2026. The official update material reviewed does not document a change to Worm Tooth acquisition in that hotfix. The death-and-respawn method is described by the item reference and the PC Gamer guide, but the drop guarantee remains unverified.
