Earn points from Contest of Mayors assignments
- Open Contest HQ and review the current rules and assignment list.
- Select an assignment and tap Accept.
- Complete the task before its timer expires. The assignment card shows its Plumbob Point reward; EA says trickier assignments offer larger rewards.
- Open Leaderboards to check your position and see which rewards you can redeem.
EA describes a Contest of Mayors cycle as lasting five days. Its guide says each contest groups 100 randomly selected Mayors. Contest rank is based on cumulative lifetime Plumbob Points, while the leaderboard shows your current position and redeemable rewards. EA’s Contest of Mayors guide covers the rules and features in Contest HQ.

Use Streaks for possible bonus points
A Streak is a sequence of assignments with set time limits. Completing the sequence on time may award bonus Plumbob Points. The number of tasks and the potential bonus depend on your League, and failing an assignment ends that Streak.
Before starting, compare the task and timer with the time and resources you have available. Streak lengths and bonuses are not a universal fixed amount in EA’s guide; check the current in-game terms.

Choose tasks using the information in your game
EA does not publish a universal current reward table for individual assignments. To decide what to accept, compare the displayed Plumbob Point reward, time limit, difficulty, and whether the task suits your available resources. For a Streak, also factor in its League-specific length and the risk that one failed task ends the sequence. There is no verified points-per-minute ranking that applies to every player.
If you cancel an assignment, the replacement has a cooldown. EA says you can skip that wait with SimCash, but spending SimCash is optional and not required to earn Plumbob Points.

Tell Plumbob Points apart from other rewards
Contest of Mayors Plumbob Points are not the same as every point-like reward in the game. During active Events, assignments can also earn Event Track points. Design Challenges award Blueprints for completed and submitted challenges. These rewards use separate tracks; check the assignment card and event interface to see which reward you are earning. EA’s rewards guide explains these other reward types.
