PS5 error WS-116483-3 means there was a problem connecting to a server. Check PlayStation Network status, then follow PlayStation Support’s steps in order: restart your console, power-cycle your router, and try again later if the error remains.
What does WS-116483-3 mean?
PlayStation classifies WS-116483-3 as a PS5 error and describes it as: “There was a problem connecting to the server.” The code indicates a server-connection problem; it does not by itself establish that your router is faulty, your console is damaged, or PlayStation Network is experiencing an outage. How to fix WS-116483-3
- Check PlayStation Network status. Open the PlayStation Network status page and check for service issues. An outage or disruption may explain the error; if status appears normal, continue with the local troubleshooting steps.
- Restart your PS5. Turn the console off, start it again, and retry the feature or online service that produced the code.
- Restart your router. Turn the router off, wait at least five minutes, then turn it back on. Once it has restarted, try connecting again.
- Try again later. PlayStation says the issue may be temporary. If the steps do not resolve it, wait and retry rather than assuming the console or router is defective.

If the error keeps returning
The code-specific guidance does not identify one underlying cause or provide a further decision tree for persistent errors. Check PSN status again when you encounter the code, since service availability can change, and retry the listed steps if appropriate. The official guidance does not establish that buying networking equipment or changing an unlisted console setting will fix it.
