If you mean a previous version of the Roblox Studio application, Roblox’s reviewed official materials do not document a supported download for an older release. If you mean an older version of a place you created, Studio’s Version History lets you inspect or restore a saved version. For a familiar-looking Studio, you can customize its layout, toolbar, shortcuts, and settings, but the documentation does not describe a switch to a historical interface.
Can you download an old Roblox Studio application?
Roblox’s Studio setup guide explains how to download and install the current version on supported Windows and Mac computers. It does not document a supported way to select, download, or run a previous Studio release. That is a limit of the reviewed official guidance—not proof that an old installer cannot be found elsewhere. An unofficial download should not be treated as Roblox-approved or verified.
If Studio says it is outdated, Roblox’s guidance is to update it rather than seek an older build. Clicking the Update button prompts you to save or close the open place; Studio then updates and restarts. Roblox recommends using the current version for the latest APIs and features.
How to open or restore an older version of your place
Place Version History is different from Studio’s application history: it concerns saved or published versions of a place, not old Studio installers. Use it when you want to inspect earlier work or return your place to an earlier state.

- Open the place in Studio.
- Select Window > Version History.
- Choose the version you want and select Open Local Copy to inspect it in a new Studio session. This opens a copy rather than changing the live place.
- To make an earlier version the current place, use the restore action in Version History. Restoring creates a new version; it does not automatically publish the restored place. Publish separately if you want that restored content to go live.

How to make Studio feel more familiar
If you are trying to get back an older look or workflow, Roblox’s setup documentation describes supported customization for the toolbar, window layout, keyboard shortcuts, and settings. It does not document a setting that switches Studio to a historical interface release. You can adjust those supported options, but they are not a full rollback to an old UI.

Can you use an older experience as a starting point?
If by “old Roblox” you mean an older experience rather than Studio itself, first check the experience’s details page. Roblox says an experience can be used as a template when its details page indicates that its source can be copied. Respect the creator’s permissions, and ask for permission when needed.
