The latest dated official update found is Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.9, released with the Blood Testament event on September 8, 2026. Crytek’s announcement does not mention the reported invisible-wall or reconnect problems, so it does not confirm that the update caused, acknowledged, or fixed them. Treat both as unconfirmed player reports unless Crytek publishes an issue-specific notice.
What players are reporting
A third-party page dated May 16, 2026 describes an invisible wall that prevents movement or aiming, alongside a reconnect problem that can remove a player from a session or send them back into a lobby loop. That wording reflects reports, not verified prevalence, platform scope, or a confirmed shared cause. No published frequency or affected-player statistics are established.

What the latest official patch says
Crytek’s September 8, 2026 Update 2.9 announcement says the Blood Testament event launched with quality-of-life and community-requested changes, a new time of day, and a new weapon. It lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but does not identify an invisible-wall or reconnect fix. The available information therefore does not establish that these symptoms began with Update 2.9 or that they are limited to a particular platform.
Crytek’s earlier March 18, 2026 Update 2.7 announcement describes cross-platform invites: Steam and Microsoft Store PC players could group together, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players could group within the console ecosystem. That platform detail is not evidence that the current reconnect reports affect any specific system.
#1 Best Overall
Do not confuse this with the older concertina-wire bug
Crytek’s March 26, 2025 Update 2.3 notes documented a separate issue in which concertina wire could render through walls or ceilings and sometimes damage Hunters despite an obstacle. The notes say the damage-through-obstacle behavior was fixed, although wire might still render through some walls. This historical fix does not confirm a fix for current reports of blocked movement or aiming, or for reconnect failures.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to check before calling it a patch bug
- Look for an issue-specific Crytek patch note or support notice that names the same symptom; a general update announcement is not confirmation.
- When reporting the problem, record the platform, game version, map and location, what action was blocked, and whether reconnecting restored the same session. These details help distinguish a repeatable collision issue from a connection or session problem without assuming either diagnosis.
- Describe the two symptoms separately if both occur. The available reports do not establish that the invisible wall and reconnect behavior share a cause.
No current workaround, affected location, platform distribution, or post-Update 2.9 fix is established by the cited material. Buying hardware, accessories, or physical game media is not supported as a solution to these unconfirmed software symptoms.
