Quickfang is a Legendary Power sword. Item databases list opening Legendary Engrams and earning faction rank-up packages as its source, but those listings do not confirm that either route currently drops it. Check Quickfang’s in-game source text before committing to a farm; a separate campaign-as-Hunter entry appears to describe a historical route, not a verified current one.
What sources list Quickfang?
Two item records give the same acquisition wording: open Legendary Engrams and earn faction rank-up packages. That source text appears on light.gg’s Quickfang collectible record and the D2 Destiny Game Wiki Quickfang page. Neither listing establishes that these sources are enabled for Quickfang in the live game now, nor does either provide a drop rate or guaranteed method.

Is completing the campaign as a Hunter still a way to get it?
A different light.gg collectible record says to complete the campaign as a Hunter. Because that differs from the Legendary Engram and faction-package source text, treat it as a historical acquisition record rather than a confirmed current route. The reviewed pages do not establish which item history or version it represents.
How to check before you farm
- Inspect Quickfang’s source text in-game, if the item is visible in a collection or other item view. Use the source shown there as your first check rather than assuming an old database entry is current.
- If you are considering a vendor or engram route, confirm that the current game identifies it as a possible source for Quickfang. The database wording alone does not confirm today’s availability.
- Check a current inventory or community source before spending time on a specific activity. A vendor inventory is a dated snapshot: for example, Bungie’s July 3, 2026 Xûr inventory post does not list Quickfang among its displayed offers, but that says nothing definitive about other weeks or other sources.
Bungie’s Monument of Triumph FAQ says the June 9, 2026 update was Destiny 2’s last live-service update. That notice does not say whether Quickfang is currently obtainable. The same update’s notes say Xûr’s Reputation Rank Reward Track was restored, but do not connect it specifically to Quickfang.

Can another character use Quickfang?
Bungie’s New and Returning Player Guide says most weapons can be used across classes, with some exceptions, and that gear placed in the Vault can be equipped by another character. The sources reviewed do not confirm whether Quickfang itself has a class restriction, so check its in-game details before planning around a Hunter-only requirement.
