First Wave Caches are tied to active Hurricane conditions, but a map marker is only a possible spawn point—not a guarantee that a cache will appear there in your raid. Use Raider Cache markers to plan a short search route, then listen for the cache’s electronic ticking or electric tone as you check nearby spots. The storm makes that search harder by affecting movement, visibility, hearing and combat.
What Hurricane changes while you search
Hurricane conditions bring strong winds and blowing debris to the surface. The ARC Raiders community wiki’s Hurricane guide describes reduced visibility and hearing, shield damage from debris, and increased ARC threat. Wind direction matters too: running against it slows movement and drains stamina faster, while moving with it increases speed. Jumping and throwable trajectories are also affected. GamesRadar reports that smoke and gas are affected as well in its coverage of the Hurricane condition.
These effects make a direct sprint between distant markers a poor default. Check the wind and your stamina before choosing a route, and expect audio cues to be less distinct in the storm. If combat starts, account for debris and the wind’s effect on thrown items rather than relying on familiar timing or trajectories.
How to locate a First Wave Cache
- Confirm the Hurricane is active. First Wave Caches are associated with Hurricane conditions; do not assume they will be available in other conditions.
- Choose nearby Raider Cache markers. Treat them as candidate locations only. The map guide says the actual cache locations are randomized per raid, so a marker does not guarantee a cache at that spot.
- Search a small cluster. Check nearby candidates before committing to a long cross-map trip for one unverified marker. Let wind direction, stamina, and your exposure to ARC or other Raiders shape the route.
- Listen while moving between candidates. Guides describe a distinct electronic ticking or electric tone. Pause or slow down when practical, since Hurricane conditions reduce hearing. Headphones may make the cue easier to notice, but no specific model is required.
- Leave if the route becomes unsafe. A possible cache is not worth treating as a guaranteed objective. Reassess if debris, enemies, or the route back put you at undue risk.
Guide-recommended areas to check
A location guide lists broad search areas across four maps. These names can help orient a route, but they are not confirmed coordinates or guaranteed placements; cache availability can vary by raid.

The ARC Raiders map guide supplies these area names. Another map guide describes Dam Battlegrounds as having high cache density, but that is not enough to establish it as the best map for every raid. Check the live map and conditions rather than treating a community map as a fixed spawn list.
