You can talk your way through the front gate, reach the station by side-quest routes, or attack the guards. Your available options depend on quests completed, skills, and earlier interactions. Inside, you can seek Marshal Corbin’s help before confronting Brigadier Montelli; afterward, the terminal in Augustine de Vries’ safe room lets you decide where the Relay goes.
Prepare before you approach the Relay
The mission sends you to investigate Augustine de Vries, and information at her house points you toward the Relay. PCGamesN’s walkthrough describes pulling a lever beside the toilet to reveal a hidden room containing information about the station and de Vries’ safe room: PCGamesN’s Vox Relay Station walkthrough.
There is more than one way in, and the routes have different prerequisites. If you want to avoid a fight at the entrance, check whether you have the Writ of Conscription and the Speech skill for the gate conversation. If you have completed relevant side quests, other approaches may be available.
Choose an infiltration route
| Route | Reported requirements | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Quiet front gate | Writ of Conscription and Speech 3 to persuade Sentry Second Class Lehman, according to Neoseeker. Game8 also lists Leadership 3 as an alternate check; the exact check may depend on quest state or how the route is summarized. Neoseeker walkthrough; Game8 route guide. | Passing the conversation avoids the entrance fight. Game8 notes that skipping those enemies also means missing their combat experience and loot. |
| Zyranium gas approach | A gas-deflection shield obtained through the An Aegis Against the Miasma quest chain, as described by PCGamesN. PCGamesN walkthrough. | The shield lets you cross the hazardous area and continue toward the station by another approach. |
| Bridge | Complete For Whom the Bridge Tolls, or fight the guards. PCGamesN walkthrough. | Completing the quest provides a way across without forcing a fight at the bridge. |
| Raptidon Den pipe | Clear the Raptidon Den in connection with Inez’s quest. PCGamesN walkthrough. | A pipe from the den leads into the Relay, bypassing the standard gate approach. |
| Officer Kaur and Skycutter Tower | Complete Officer Kaur’s quest chain, gain access to the repair center and gas shield, then overload the Relay’s defenses from Skycutter Tower. PCGamesN walkthrough. | This is a longer side-quest route that disables the exterior defenses. |
| Direct assault | No special prerequisite is reported; fight your way in. PCGamesN walkthrough; Game8 route guide. | Expect more combat than the quiet gate route, with the associated opportunity for experience and loot from enemies. |
Get help from Marshal Corbin
Once inside, make your way toward Marshal Corbin and the command area. Neoseeker reports that showing him the Writ of Conscription and passing Speech 3 can earn his assistance for a later encounter. PCGamesN notes that earlier interactions affect whether he recognizes or helps you, so his response depends on your quest state: Neoseeker walkthrough; PCGamesN walkthrough.

Prepare for Brigadier Montelli
You eventually have to confront Brigadier Montelli. PCGamesN’s walkthrough advises using cover and adjusting your position when the arena walkways become electrified. Treat that as tactical guidance rather than a guaranteed way to win; use the cover and routes available in your encounter.

Spoilers: after defeating Montelli and reaching de Vries’ safe room, use the terminal to change the Relay’s destination. PCGamesN describes three outcomes: leave its course unchanged and it hits Fairfield, redirect it to Westport, or—if you have Hack 4—send it into space. The choice can affect access to characters, quests, and rewards, and the full consequences may vary with companion and quest state. Make a separate save before selecting an outcome if you want the option to revisit the decision. PCGamesN walkthrough.
