On Windows, you can add either a shortcut to the Roblox app or a shortcut to one specific Roblox game. For the app, open Start > All, find Roblox, and drag it onto the desktop. For a game, open its Roblox detail page, select the three-dot menu beside Play, then choose Add to Desktop.
Choose which Roblox icon you want
The app shortcut opens Roblox. A game shortcut opens one particular experience. These are separate shortcuts, created from different places in Windows or Roblox.

Add the Roblox app icon to a Windows desktop
- Select Start, then All, to see installed apps.
- Find Roblox in the list.
- Drag Roblox onto the desktop to create a shortcut.
Windows also supports creating a shortcut manually: right-click an empty area of the desktop, choose New > Shortcut, and follow the prompts to select the item.
Add a shortcut to one Roblox game
- Open the Roblox detail page for the experience you want.
- Select the three-dot menu beside the Play button.
- Choose Add to Desktop.
- When Roblox confirms the shortcut was added, find it on your desktop and double-click it to launch the experience.
If Add to Desktop is not available, check Roblox’s current app and support instructions. The documented steps do not identify a specific setting that restores a missing option.

Check which Roblox app is installed
Roblox distinguishes its newer Microsoft Store app, named Roblox – Windows, from the older app named Roblox. Roblox describes the newer app’s icon as blue and the older app’s as light gray. Its support guidance says to install the newer app, sign in with your existing account, and then optionally uninstall the old app after confirming that you can sign in and play. What about Mac?
The Windows drag-and-drop steps above are not Mac instructions. Roblox’s Mac reinstall guidance says opening Roblox.dmg runs the installer and places the Roblox icon in Applications. The available Roblox installation instructions also explain opening Roblox Player from a browser, including a Firefox-specific launch procedure, but do not establish a current Mac sequence for putting a desktop alias on the desktop. Make a browser shortcut instead
If you mean a shortcut to the Roblox website rather than the installed app or a game, Microsoft documents dragging the browser’s site-information icon beside the address to the desktop. The exact icon and behavior can vary by browser. See Microsoft’s Windows desktop guidance.
