Open Minecraft’s chat, enter /gamemode creative, and submit the command to switch yourself to Creative mode. If it is denied, commands may be disabled or your account may not have permission.
Set yourself to Creative mode
- Open the in-game chat or command input.
- Type
/gamemode creativeand submit it. Minecraft commands entered in chat begin with a slash; Microsoft Learn documents this exact command for Bedrock Edition. Microsoft Learn: Popular Commands
Change another player’s game mode
In Bedrock Edition, add a player name or supported target selector after the mode. For example, enter /gamemode creative PlayerName to target a player by name. The command reference lists the target as an optional argument. Microsoft Learn: /gamemode Command

If the command does not work
Bedrock single-player
Open the world settings and, on the Game tab, turn on Allow Cheats. Enabling cheats permanently disables achievements in that world, even if you later turn cheats off. Minecraft: How to Use Commands in Minecraft
Java single-player
Commands can be enabled when creating a world or later through World Options. If you cannot run the command, check the world’s command settings. The cited general Minecraft guide describes this access setup; the Bedrock command references do not establish Java-specific shorthand or numeric syntax.

Multiplayer
Command access depends on server permissions. If the command is rejected on a server you do not control, ask an operator or administrator to grant the needed access or change your game mode.

The Bedrock syntax is /gamemode <gameMode: GameMode> [player: target]. Its documented Creative values include creative, c, and 1; the full word is the clearest form to use.
