To stop a Roblox private server from renewing, open the experience page, scroll to Servers, open the three-dot menu beside your server, choose Cancel, then review and confirm. You can also cancel from the server’s Configure page. Cancellation stops future renewals, but access continues through the period you have already paid for.
Cancel from the experience’s Servers list
- Open the Roblox experience that has the private server.
- Scroll to Servers on the experience page.
- Find your private server and open its three-dot menu.
- Select Cancel, review the cancellation agreement, and confirm by selecting Yes, cancel.
Roblox Support documents cancellation in its Private / VIP Servers FAQ. It says you may cancel any time before the server’s renewal date.
Cancel from the Configure page
- Open the three-dot menu beside your private server and select Configure.
- Select the green Active icon beside Subscription Status to cancel the monthly charge.
On the configuration page, check Renewal Date for the next scheduled renewal and Expiration Date to see when access ends after cancellation. Roblox’s FAQ explains these dates and the private-server subscription.
What cancellation changes—and what it does not
Cancellation turns off renewal; it does not immediately end access to time already paid for. If by “shut down” you mean stop other people from joining, use the server’s access controls instead. Restricting who can join does not cancel the subscription or change its price, so use one of the cancellation routes above to stop billing. Roblox describes this distinction in its Private / VIP Servers FAQ.

How private-server billing works
Roblox says private-server prices are set by the experience creator, charged in Robux, and billed monthly on the same date. Check the server’s configuration page for its renewal and expiration dates rather than assuming cancellation ends access immediately.
Roblox’s general guidance for subscriptions within experiences advises canceling at least 24 hours before renewal, but that page is not specific to private servers. The private-server FAQ says cancellation is available any time before the renewal date; consult the server’s displayed renewal date and the private-server instructions when canceling. See Subscriptions within Experiences.
