If by “restore” you mean getting item duplication working again after an update, you cannot restore a patched glitch in place: check your game version, then use a method reported to work on that version. Nintendo’s US update page lists The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom version 1.4.3 as its latest update, released February 17, 2026; Nintendo UK gives the regional release date as February 18. A guide updated October 6, 2026 reports three duplication routes that still work in 1.4.3 on Switch and Switch 2. Nintendo’s notes do not confirm those glitches, so treat them as guide-reported methods rather than official or guaranteed behavior.
Check your version before trying a glitch
Glitch instructions are version-specific. Nintendo’s US support page lists version 1.4.3, released February 17, 2026, as the latest update; Nintendo UK lists the same version with a February 18, 2026 release date. Those dates reflect regional listings, not different versions. Nintendo’s 1.4.3 notes mention a fix involving the Black Hinox/Hinox Monster Medal and say other issues were addressed, but do not say whether duplication methods work. Nintendo of America’s update history and instructions and Nintendo UK’s update history provide the official version information.
- On the HOME Menu, highlight Tears of the Kingdom.
- Press + or − to view the current software version beneath the game title.
- To update, choose Software Update, then Via the Internet.
If your installed version is 1.4.3, the methods below are the routes a guide updated October 6, 2026 reports as still working. If you follow a tutorial for an earlier version, check its date and version requirements before using it.
Choose a reported 1.4.3 duplication route
The routes differ by what they copy, how much setup they need, and how precise the inputs are. The details below are reported by the QuestFern Team’s guide to glitches reported to work in 1.4.3; Nintendo does not verify glitch behavior in its update notes.

| Route | What it can duplicate | Requirements and setup | Timing and trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Split Item Duplication | Up to four materials per round, according to the guide; the material must be one that can be fused to arrows. | A bow, an arrow, a shield, at least three of the target material, and exactly one piece of raw food in a Materials slot before the target material. | The guide describes this as the easiest route and says it has no timed input. It does not duplicate fairies or other live creatures. |
| Midair throw duplication | One throwable material per attempt, according to the guide. | A ledge and a throwable material. | Requires timed inputs and yields less per attempt than the reported split-item route. |
| Mineru’s Construct copy | A weapon, bow, or shield. | Progress far enough to use Mineru’s Construct, plus a spare of the same item type with nothing fused to it. | Timing-sensitive: the guide says the input window is only a few frames wide. |
For materials, use the split-item route if you can meet its setup
This is the most suitable of the reported options when your target is an arrow-fusable material and you can arrange the required inventory order. The guide’s stated yield is up to four materials per round; that is a reported mechanic, not an independently measured result. Do not substitute a fairy or another live creature as the target.
For a single throwable material, use the midair route
This route is for a throwable material and requires a ledge. Because it depends on timing and the guide describes one item per attempt, it is a narrower option than the split-item method.

- Ultrahand: Using the new Ultrahand ability, Link can pick up, move, and rotate almost any object, and can even attach objects together to create bridges, vehicles, and more!
- Fuse: Magically fuse almost any object to Link’s current weapon, shield, or arrow to increase durability, damage, or even add a new effect. Experiment with lots of different combinations to come up with surprising—and sometimes hilarious—results!
- Ascend: Add a new dimension to your exploration with Ascend, which gives Link the ability to pass through solid objects above him. Rise up through ceilings, hillsides, and even certain enemies to create seemingly impossible shortcuts.
- Recall: Use Recall to make objects in motion move backward through time, letting Link ride fallen boulders skyward, recover thrown weapons, or send projectiles back where they came from.
For equipment, use Mineru’s Construct
This route copies a weapon, bow, or shield rather than a material. It requires access to Mineru’s Construct and a spare item of the same category with no fused item attached. Choose it only if you are prepared for a very narrow timing window.
Save before attempting a duplication method
The guide recommends making a manual save first. If the inventory looks wrong or the game freezes, reload that save rather than assuming the glitch can be safely repeated. The guide warns of a broken inventory state or a freeze; it does not establish that an attempt permanently corrupts a save.

Why familiar tutorials may no longer work
QuestFern reports that several older methods were fixed in earlier updates. Its version history says the midair-sort (Y + B) and pause-and-reload weapon-copy methods were fixed in 1.1.2; Tobio’s Hollow Chasm arrows and frozen-meat Autobuild methods in 1.2.0; and edited Autobuild QR codes in 1.4.2. This patch history comes from the guide, not Nintendo’s changelog. A video or post that depends on one of those methods is not a way to restore it on 1.4.3.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Switch and Switch 2 timing differences
The guide reports its listed methods for both the original Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, but says Switch 2’s higher frame rate shortens timing windows. That matters most for the midair throw and Mineru routes; it does not guarantee identical results across consoles or attempts. Nintendo says version 1.4.0 added support for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, but its update notes do not confirm the guide’s glitch claims.
