To go beyond that category’s ordinary soft limit, choose Advanced near the lower-right corner and enter the accessories’ numeric asset IDs. Roblox Support says this control accepts up to 10 items; that figure applies to the Advanced control, not necessarily every wearable type or a universal total.
How to add multiple accessories in the browser Avatar Editor

Open Roblox in a web browser and go to Avatar to reach the Avatar Editor.

Open the category you want, such as hats or hair, then select the items to equip.

If the category’s regular controls stop you, select Advanced near the lower-right corner of the editor.

Open the item page for an accessory you want to add and copy its numeric asset ID from the item link. Enter that ID in Advanced. Roblox Support documents adding up to 10 items through this control, but does not define that as a universal limit across all wearable classes. Roblox Support’s browser customization instructions use more than three hats as an example of exceeding a soft limit; that example does not establish the same ordinary limit for every category.
If an addition or removal does not display correctly, select Redraw under the avatar image, as Roblox Support recommends.

Rigid accessories and layered clothing are different
Hats, hair, and similar rigid accessories attach at a specific point on the avatar and do not deform. Layered accessories instead stretch and fit over the avatar’s body and existing clothes. Roblox describes these as separate wearable types in its Creator Hub accessory documentation and avatar overview. The Advanced asset-ID instructions address the Avatar Editor’s soft-limit control; they do not establish a shared limit for layered clothing. Roblox reported in 2022 that avatars could wear up to six clothing layers on top of classic clothing, but that was a statement at publication time, not a verified current global limit. Which tool should you use?
Use the Avatar Editor to equip items on your own avatar. Roblox Studio’s Accessory Fitting Tool is creator software for previewing the fit and layering of multiple layered accessories while making assets; it is not the user-facing way to equip accessories. Device availability
Roblox Support documents these steps for the browser editor. Its instructions do not establish whether the Advanced control or its limits work identically in mobile apps, mobile browsers, desktop clients, or on consoles, so the path above should not be assumed to apply unchanged on those platforms.
