If you mean replay the story, start a New Game; if you mean erase saved data, that is a different and potentially permanent action. Before starting a new run, save any progress you want to keep to a separate slot.
How to start Story Mode again
- Open the game’s Save/Load screen and look for New Game. A Steam Community discussion reports that this is where the option appears, but the exact menu placement is community-reported and may vary by platform or game version: Steam Community discussion.
- Choose New Game to begin a fresh Story Mode playthrough. Check the wording and prompts shown on your own platform before confirming.
Starting a new story is not the same as deleting every save. If the game presents a warning, read it carefully before proceeding.

How to keep your existing progress
Save the run you want to preserve in a separate slot before starting over. Rockstar’s console troubleshooting instructions show how to select a save slot on PlayStation and Xbox, though the article addresses a loading issue rather than providing a general reset guide. It was last updated April 21, 2024: Rockstar Support: Continuous loading screen when selecting Story.
Those documented save-slot details are for PlayStation and Xbox. They do not establish how to back up or delete PC save files, or how local saves interact with cloud copies.

If you mean permanently erase saved data
Do not treat New Game as a confirmed way to erase all saves, and do not delete game files, console storage, or cloud copies based on generic instructions. Current authoritative deletion steps for every platform and cloud-save service are not established here. Find instructions specific to your platform and confirm which local and cloud data they affect before deleting anything.
