To open Photo Mode in Dragon’s Dogma 2, pause during gameplay and select Photo Mode from the pause/options menu. The June 2026 update added a Free Camera option. Exact Photo Mode controls and screenshot inputs are not confirmed across platforms, so follow the prompts shown in your game.
How to open Photo Mode
- While playing, open the pause/options menu using your platform’s current control prompt.
- Select Photo Mode.
- Use the on-screen prompts to operate the camera and take a screenshot. The available controls can depend on platform and remapped inputs.
The pause-menu route is described by third-party guide coverage; Capcom’s surfaced PS5 manual documents general controls rather than a Photo Mode-specific entry path or mapping.
What Photo Mode features are confirmed?
Free Camera
A June 10, 2026 update added Free Camera to Photo Mode. PC Gamer reproduced the patch-note wording as: “Added the Free Camera option to Photo Mode.” Capcom’s update page linked from that report was inaccessible, so this feature is confirmed here through the reproduced patch note, not a directly inspected Capcom update page. The available description does not specify the camera’s movement limits or detailed controls.
Other controls and options
The accessible sources do not establish a complete list of Photo Mode settings or inputs. They do not confirm particular buttons, camera sliders, filters, interface-hiding controls, or where screenshots are saved. Check the prompts in your current build rather than relying on a button mapping for another platform.

How to frame a useful shot
Capcom’s July 3, 2026 Capcom Snapshots showcase demonstrates the kinds of scenes players have captured with the new Photo Mode features. Treat these as subject ideas, not guaranteed poses or outcomes:
- Character and vocation: frame an Arisen or Pawn using a vocation ability. Capcom featured a Sorcerer Pawn casting magic and a Trickster Arisen’s illusions.
- Creatures and combat: look for a dramatic encounter or a large creature against the landscape. The showcase included a Griffin over the Brine and the Dragon.
- World landmarks: use a distinctive location or encounter as the focal point; Capcom’s examples included the Sphinx.
- Groups and activity: Pawns in the Rift provide an example of a scene with multiple characters and environmental context.
The showcase illustrates captured scenes but does not explain how to reproduce them or guarantee a particular expression, pose, spell effect, or camera angle.

Controls, remapping, and screenshots
On PS5, Capcom’s manual says general controls can be changed at Pause Menu > Options > Controls > Button Mapping. That page does not provide Photo Mode-specific inputs. Other platforms may use different prompts and screenshot procedures, so use the controls shown in your game and your platform’s screenshot instructions.

If you plan to submit an image to Capcom Snapshots, its rules are specific to that feature: submissions must be your own images from Capcom games, must not be explicit, must not be altered or use modified content, and must not show personal information. Capcom states, “Images cannot be altered or feature modified content.” These are submission rules for Capcom Snapshots, not a general restriction on every screenshot you take for personal use.
