Ibai Llanos’s La Velada del Año 4 drew a record 3,846,256 concurrent viewers on Twitch on 13 July 2024, according to Guinness World Records. The event was a creator-led amateur boxing show at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The available record confirms the event’s scale, but does not establish Will Smith’s role or quantify how it changed Twitch’s July audience overall.
What La Velada del Año 4 was—and what the record measures
La Velada del Año is an amateur boxing spectacle featuring streamers, content creators and celebrities. Its fourth edition took place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid on 13 July 2024. Guinness World Records lists 3,846,256 as the Twitch stream’s concurrent peak viewership for that event: a peak number watching at the same time, not a count of unique viewers over the full broadcast.
Guinness World Records’ current record page documents the event and its peak. That figure supports the conclusion that La Velada was a major Twitch moment; by itself, it does not show the event’s average audience, total hours watched, or its effect on Twitch’s full-month viewership.
What can be established about Will Smith and a “slow July”
The GamesBeat/StreamElements headline describes the event as featuring Will Smith and says it spiced up Twitch’s slow July. The original page could not be retrieved, and the accessible evidence does not independently confirm Smith’s appearance or explain how “slow” was measured. Those points should therefore be treated as the headline’s framing, not as verified details or a quantified platform-wide comparison.

Keep the 2025 figures separate
La Velada del Año V was a different event, held in Seville on 26 July 2025. Reports on that fifth edition offer useful context for the franchise’s scale, but those figures do not describe the 2024 Madrid broadcast.

| Hours watched | La Velada del Año V’s dedicated Twitch category, 2025 | 46.3 million hours watched, reported by Streams Charts. Hours watched are not concurrent peak viewers. |
| Peak viewers across Twitch | Twitch platform during La Velada del Año V, 2025 | 14,078,025, reported by Streams Charts; the report notes the final peak figure was updated after Ibai’s clarification in late July 2026. This is a platform-wide peak, not the event channel’s peak. |
The 2025 attendance count, approximate audience, category hours and platform-wide peak describe different things. They should not be combined with the 2024 Guinness figure as though they were measurements of one event or one audience metric.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the headline’s audience story amounts to
The strongest verifiable takeaway is that La Velada del Año 4 set a substantial Twitch concurrent-viewership mark in July 2024. The evidence here does not establish the separate claim that Will Smith appeared, nor does it supply a month-to-month analysis proving Twitch had a slow July or showing the event’s exact impact on the platform’s overall audience.
