Put items in a Shipping Bin on your farm to sell them overnight; the gold arrives after you sleep. To get paid immediately, sell eligible items to a merchant who buys that category. The sale value is the same either way, but only shipping counts toward shipping collection statistics and shipping-specific achievements.
Sell through a Shipping Bin
- Go to a Shipping Bin on your farm and interact with it.
- Select the item you want to sell from your inventory. You can also select an inventory item first, then interact with the bin.
- Sleep to end the day. The sale proceeds are added overnight.
Your farm starts with one Shipping Bin. The Stardew Valley Wiki lists additional bins at 250g plus 150 Wood: Shipping.

Undo a shipment made by mistake
The wiki says you can retrieve the last item shipped during the same day by interacting with the bin and clicking the item displayed there.
Sell directly to a merchant for immediate gold
Visit a merchant who buys the item and sell it through the shop interface. Direct sales pay immediately, which is useful if you want to spend the proceeds before the day ends. The wiki says direct sales and shipping pay the same amount, but a direct sale does not count toward shipping collection statistics or shipping-specific achievements.

Which merchant buys which items?
- Pierre’s General Store: produce and other edibles.
- Fish Shop: fish.
- Clint: gems, minerals, ore, and bars.
- Adventurer’s Guild: weapons.
Buyers are category-specific, and some items have only one supported sale route. Use the bin when an item can be shipped and you want shipping progress; sell to a merchant when you need immediate payment or the item requires that route.
Pierre’s shop hours
The Stardew Valley Wiki says Pierre’s store initially closes on Wednesday and opens every day after the Community Center is restored. Pierre leaves the counter at 5 p.m., even if the store remains accessible later. Shop schedules can depend on game version and progression, so check the in-game schedule if timing matters: Pierre’s General Store.
Choose the sale method that fits your goal

The wiki reports that the sale value is the same through either route. Item quality and professions can affect the displayed price, so check the value for the specific item rather than assuming a generic amount.
Check an item’s price in the game
The optional Price Catalogue is an in-game book that lets you see an item’s sell price, including displayed adjustments such as quality or profession effects. Its listed price is 3,000g, according to the Stardew Valley Wiki: Price Catalogue. It is not required to sell items.

Use a Mini-Shipping Bin for extra farm drop-off points
The Mini-Shipping Bin has nine slots, and its contents are paid at the end of the day. The wiki lists it as a reward for either the Crop Order or Pierre’s Prime Produce special order, and as later purchasable for 60 Qi Gems: Mini-Shipping Bin.
